Wow I never thought of this...

In one of the Zhan books, I forget which one, a couple of the characters talk about the conspiracy theory that Luke was always known about by the Emperor. Never changed his last name. Hid in plain sight.. hell even grew up close to where Vader did. But you bring up a good point. Apparently the best option is on this planet everyone dressed as a jedi.

I think there were enough similarities in typical local attire to Kenobi's that it wasn't reallt the same as if you wore your fatigues to dinner. Besides, there were more variations in the Jedi "uniform" than there were between Kenobi's and the Tusken Raiders'.

That's true. Look at that green Twi'lek girl and Mace Windu. Which personally those work a lot better imo than baggy robes like Qui-gon and Obi-wan.

well, in 2-3 Obi-Wan had a tighter fitting tunic like what Windu wore in AotC

Or between Kenobi and Owen Lars for that matter. I think Rochey's point is most likely - it isn't a question of "why is this desert hermit dressed like a Jedi", so much as the fact that the Jedi dress like your average desert hermit.

It was just a stupid retcon. What Kenobi wore was basic desert wear, for Primus' sake! Before the effin' prequels no reason for the stormies to suspect anything! Hell, that snout-nosed guy wore a smiliar outfit. Was he a Jedi? ;)

So... Tatooine is where they hold the Galactic Jedi Fan Convention, then?

Nope, Graham. It's simply an insignificant planet in the Outer Rim Territories... that half the galaxy's visited at one point or another and 2/3 of the major storylines have at least some part occur there.

it's almost like Tatooine holds some sort of unknown cosmic significance.

Before Hyperdrive was discovered it held the spice. And whoever controls the spice...

First you get the spice, then you get the power, then you get the women...

Wait, wrong movie.

This whole thing just seems silly. There was no Jedi Uniform. They wore whatever the hell they wanted to at the time. Saying that someone should have been caught for wearing brown and tan colors on a planet that was brown and tan...

Spend a minute thinking about that then go... OH DUH!

As to the Stormtroopers. Who said they were Vader's own? Are we saying that the Empire didn't have troops of any kind on this world?

Troops =/= stormies. The bunch on Tatooine were sandtrooper specialists, not the 501st, although they were from the Devastator.

There was no Jedi uniform huh? Then how come every bloody Jedi we see in the PT was wearing a variation of the exact same set of robes? A uniform doesn't have to be a grey tunic and jack boots you know.

This is exactly the reason why I check out of a thread when you show up. If I wanted to see this kind of shit I would spend more time on SDN, nice to see that you learned squat from your ban.

I recall reading somewhere that they were members of the 501st, a check of Wookiepedia reveals nothing however. So it seems your correct.
