Re: Characters
Mikey, the BS is different then the Armor save.
BS/WS 1 needs 6+ to hit.
BS/WS 2 needs 5+ to hit.
BS/WS 3 needs 4+ to hit.
BS/WS 4 needs 3+ to hit.
BS/WS 5 needs 2+ to hit.
A roll of one always counts as a miss.
Everything is based on six sided dice (d6).
BS is for firearms.
WS is for hand weapons.

Re: Characters
It just adds a bit of randomness and chance into combat scenes. The main storyline and our character interactions are all going to proceed as normal.

Re: Characters
Sorry, I put that backwards. And anything important to the story will definitely not be left to fate.

What if we don't have dice? >.>
How many Minbari does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
None. They always surrender right before they finish the job and never tell you why.

Re: Characters
I prefer real dice myself but I think Mikey wants to do most of the dice rolling himself.

Re: Characters
Aye, that's fine with me.
BTW, is there anything else we need to get sorted out before we get things rolling? I still have a tonne of info on my hard-drive somewhere that was written up while me and Mikey were fleshing out the scenario, mostly regarding the planet and the system it's in. Shall I have a look for that and post it?

You should. It would be nice to know where we're going to be going with this.

Re: Characters
I don't think too much needs to be available right away - some of the NPC's aren't going to be revealed right away as baddies, etc. Besides, it's the nature of the Inquisition to give out info to its servants on a "you don't need to know" basis. I have an intro post written up - just a basic introduction - and I'll try to get that posted, along with an introductory brief tonight or tomorrow morning.
We'll have a comments thread, and either use that a separate thread for rolls, discussing results, etc.
BTW, anyone have special requests for starting disposition? Except for Deep, I figured everyone would be travelling with me.

Re: Game mechanics, dice rolls, and other crap
Can someone post an example of how battle would look using the dice and where they rolled?

Re: Game mechanics, dice rolls, and other crap
OK, real quick:
You write: "Naja then opened fire on George S. Cultist with his autogun."
You're WS is a 4, I roll a die, and get a 5. And there was much rejoicing.
But wait! George is wearing light armor, and has an armor save of 5+. If "he" rolls a 5 or 6, he's OK!
But let's assume he doesn't. And if we're fighting hordes of 0-level cultists or something, we ARE going to assume he doesn't. So, old George's armor doesn't help him. I probably won't bother with reducing damage for toughness for NPC's - in general, the higher your T, the less damage you take from a succesful attack. Toughness is a thing I'm probably going to leave to writing more than to the whim of the dice.

If I'm killing say an unarmed civilian child with an autogun would it be assumed that its an automatic hit? And who rolls dice you or I?

Mikey would roll; he's the GM.
