Re: The lost Star Trek Voyager Technical Manual.
I agree, a spare warp core does make sense and it is a relatively small piece of equipment overall. But not even much larger Explorer-type starships were said to carry a backup warp core, let alone smaller Scout-types such as an Intrepid class which is why I find it peculiar. I would have rather we'...

Re: Favorite DS9 episode of all time
"Far Beyond the Stars." Fantastic storytelling in a great break from the Trek convention.

Re: The lost Star Trek Voyager Technical Manual.
I thought the DS9 Tech Manual was just fine. There were some discrepancies but overall it was fine. I understand the DS9 Tech Manual is out of print and Amazon has it listed anywhere from $38 for a used worn copy to $174 for mint condition copies. One thing I noticed on the Voyager TM (page 9), whic...

The lost Star Trek Voyager Technical Manual.
I had no idea that there had been a planned Star Trek Voyager Technical Manual in the works back in 1995. Apparently it was going to be along the lines of the TNG and DS9 Tech Manuals but it never got past the initial phase. Plus Sternbach and Okuda weren't going to be paid much for their efforts. B...

Where do you think the Borg transwarp ship came from?
The Borg transwarp ship, also known as the Borg Type 3 vessel, was only seen once in the two-parter "Descent 1 & 2." In that episode, it's said that Hugh's new individuality spread to the other Borg on his ship when he was rescued at the end of "I, Borg." But in "I, Borg...

Re: Defiance of the defiant
It was stated that we were talking about up until Nemesis, not up until Chang. "And can be detected by normal ships sensors whenever it moves, with no modifications required." That was BEFORE Starfleet Intelligence sent Kirk to get a working example. After the Romulans had improved their c...

Re: Defiance of the defiant
Romulan cloaks--considered such a threat to the Federation that Starfleet Intelligence sends a captain to obtain an example. Requires a sensor net powered by 20 starships to be detected. Federation cloaks--a technology that the Klingons and the Romulans couldn't get to function but is sophisticated ...

Re: Defiance of the defiant
Yes, a cloak that is completely nullified by the hodgepodge addition of one or two gas sensors to a torpedo is a good and superior system.

Re: Defiance of the defiant
None of which negates the fact that it was ultimately a flawed cloaking system that betrayed the ship's presence.

Re: Defiance of the defiant
I would guess that the Romulans have better cloaking technology than the Klingons do, but this isn't based on anything we've seen on the show(s). I simply figure that since the Romulans have a proclivity to sneaking around everyone's space that they'd place a lot of value on having the absolute bes...

Re: Defiance of the defiant
Hiya I may be totally wrong as am only half-asleep, but didn't during some of ds9, the uss defiant use her romulan cloak in the alpha quadrant? Also why (in universe) was it a romulan cloak and not a klingon one? Are romulan cloaks better (all i know is that the d'deridex has limited warp when cloa...

This ship makes me feel guilty, as though I caught in the act of doing something it oughtn't have been doing.stitch626 wrote:Here's some Klingon ships.
