Plotline

With the Klingons on the way and unwilling to risk losing Discovery, Lorca is ordered to depart before they arrive. He disobeys in order to protect the lifeforms on Pahvo and improve the Federation's chances of detecting the cloaked ships.

When the Klingons arrive, Tyler and Burnham secretly transport to the Klingon ship and plant sensors that will help create a detection system for cloaked ships. They find Cornwell, alive, hidden with L'Rell. At the site of L'Rell Tyler goes into shock due to memories of her torturing and raping him.

On the Discovery, Lorca has Stamets make 133 small-jumps using the spore drive in order to provide a three-dimensional map of the sensors. Burnham distracts Kol by challenging him to a duel.

Stamets is increasingly disturbed by the numerous jumps he is making, but manages to hang on to the end. After completing the algorithm, Burnham, Tyler, Cornwell, and L'Rell, who wishes to defect, are transported back to the Discovery and the Klingon ship is then destroyed.

Stamets volunteers to make one more jump to safety, but tells Lorca it will be his last. However, Lorca secretly changes the coordinates and they jump to an unknown destination surrounded by starship debris.
