Title : Here There Be Dragons Rating : 3
Writers : John Peel Year : 1993
Review : Wasn't as great as I had hoped. I disliked how the Dragons were once again treated--as evil monsters rather than as respectful creatures. Or have I spent too much time reading Dragonriders of Pern? And the Dragons didn't have as big a part as I hoped. Other than that, though, it was good. Great fun in seeing our beloved crew of the Enterprise-D reacting to medival life.
Title : I, Q Rating : 5
Writers : John De Lancie, Peter David Year : 1999
Review : As the previous reviewer said, "I, Q" stands alone and free. It's bursting with fun passages of diologue and exposition. And, if you like the movie "Princess Bride", a special treat awaits!
Title : Probe Rating : 5
Writers : Margaret wander Bonanno Year : 1992
Review : Excellent book!!! The author does a beautiful job with inventing a believable history for the Probe from THE VOYAGE HOME with references to the Borg. And I love how the author takes the reader into the mind of the Probe. The Romulan subplot is equally enjoyable.
Title : Star Trek V: The Final Frontier Rating : 4
Writers : J.M. Dillard Year : 1989
Review : Better than the movie, I think. An explanation is given as to how the ENTERPRISE breaks through the Great Barrier. We get to know more about the histories of Sybok, the 3 representatives on Nimbus III, the Secret Pains of the characters that Sybok brainwashes... There is so much in the book that isn't in the movie. If you didn't like the movie, try the book.
Title : The Eugenics Wars: The Rise and Fall of Khan Noonien Singh - Volume II Rating : 5
Writers : Greg Cox Year : 2002
Review : Just as great as Volume 1. Volume 2 actually gets into the Eugenics Wars of the 1990s. And, again Greg Cox weaves together many, many references to every series (even a reference Captain Archer's early troubles with the Vulcans!) and many real life events to tell the story. One could almost say the Eugenics Wars really DID happen with the way Greg uses real events to cover up the war that happened in the Trek universe.
Title : The Eugenics Wars: The Rise and Fall of Khan Noonien Singh - Volume I Rating : 5
Writers : Greg Cox Year : 2001
Review : EXCELLENT! Greg Cox uses Gary Seven, Roberta Lincoln, and Isis from the TOS episode "Assignment: Earth" to explore Khan's rise to power. Weaving together dozens of references from every series and real life events to tell the story. There are also references to Greg Cox's previous book involving Gary Seven and company--"Assignment: Eternity".
