What's new - Aug 1999

I'm heading off for a week or so to do various things away from the computer, including a few days in France to see the Eclipse. There won't be any updates to the site, newsgroup postings or replies to email until at least the 15th or so. Bye all...

Voyagers "Dark Horizons" has been added.

The Son'a ships from Insurrection go up today. I don't have any size comparison images, but there are some scans from insurrection for each ship.

The Tritanium page has been modified to reflect a post by Michael Voelker which indicated the nature of Tritanium. The contributors page has also been modified to include Mr Voelker.

DS 9 and Voyager have been updated through episode 16 of seasons 7 and 5, respectively. Be warned that these guides contain spoilers for all episodes up to this point.

The strength numbers for the Federation ships list have been checked, and several nits corrected. The Federation fleet page has been modified to reflect the new numbers assigned to several classes.

The beam has been reduced from 560 metres to 470 metres. The former figure came from the TNG Tech Manual, but does not match up with any of the scale diagrams we've seen - including those in the TNG TM itself. 470 m is a far more generally accepted figure.

New scans have gone up for the Type 11 shuttle and the Federation Holoship.

The Comm page for the "Warp Highways" concept has been modified; I've recently been re-watching all the TOS episodes, and a couple of new examples of non-standard speeds and distances have cropped up.

The Links page has been modified to remove both Utopia Planitia and the Great Link, both of which have or are about to close down.
