Enterprise launches a Subspace Amplifier. [1]

Early Amplifiers deployed various components after launch, as shown. [1]

Note the small thruster firing at the top of the casing as the amplifier completes alignment. [1]

A subspace buoy. A later variant on the subspace amplifier principal. Used in 2258 by the USS Entperprise to enable faster communications with Starfleet. [2]
