A molecule which the Borg believed to be the ultimate power source. The catastrophic decay of even a single omega molecule can destroy subspace over a wide area. Fearing the danger that such a capability represents, Federation policy is to destroy any Omega molecules on discovery - an order which overrides even the Prime Directive. [1]
