Kiley 279 is the second planet in the Kiley system. It is a class M planet in the Alpha Quadrant with a rotation period of 27.1 hours. Orbital period of 404.6 solar days. It has an estimated mass of 5.86335x10²⁴ kilograms. It has an estimated age of 55x10⁸ solar years. The atmosphere is made up of 78% nitrogen, 22% oxygen, 0.8% argon, 0.6% carbon dioxide, 0.5% nitrous oxide plus trace amounts of methane and glycene. It had a mean surface temperature of 15.4°C at the time of scanning. It is located at glactic coordinates of 2346.8711. [1]

After witnessing a warp drive in nearby space the locals reverse engineered the concept and developed a warp bomb. Mistaking the warp signature for the development of warp drive by the planet, the Federation initated first contact. The locals detained the Federation team. [1]
