The Federation's Krieger Wave research facility is destroyed in an explosion as an Enterprise-D away team beam away from it. Commander Riker is accused of deliberately destroying the station to cover up an attempted rape of the wife of Dr. Apgar, the facility's director. Detailed investigation proves that in fact Dr. Apgar himself was responsible for the destruction of the station, the accidental result of an attempt to murder Commander Riker. [1]
