Sarjenka was a member of a pre-warp civilisation whose planet was threatened with destruction because of a network of high grade dilithium ore in the crust. She called for help on a subspace radio, prompting a response from Lieutenant Commander Data. Sarjenka became highly attached to Data, though in accordance with the prime directive her memories of him were blanked out after her planet was saved. [1]
