A member of a species evolved to the conditions found in a subspace anomaly, Fantome was difficult to detect on sensors and lived by stowing away on board the ships which became trapped within the anomaly. He struck up a friendship with the Voyager crew, and convinced his people to help them to escape the anomaly by transporting aboard and disabling the ships attempting to stop them. [1]
