A Vulcan, Sovik was a member of Ambassador Jetanien's staff on Starbase Vanguard in 2265. He was considered for appointment as envoy to the Klingon delegation after the Klingon Ambassador stabbed the previous envoy during a fight. Sandesjo considered that Ambassador Lugok be unlikely to respect Mr. Sovik’s logic, and that his reticence would be considered a weakness. As a result the appointment went to Karumé instead. [1]
