Second in command of the Gatherers, Brull had two sons. One was about the same age as Wesley Crusher, though he was not so good with math as Wesley was. Brull wanted a better life for his sons than he himself had, and to this end agreed to help Captain Picard to engineer a meeting between his boss Chorgan and Soverign Marouk of Acamar. [1]
