TimelineQuotes
Universe : Prime Timeline
Name : Doctor David Marcus [1]
Species : Humans

A gifted scientist who was involved with the Genesis project, David was the son of Dr. Carol Marcus and Captain James Kirk. Carol never told David that Kirk was his father, and the boy grew up disliking Starfleet and everything connected to it. When Khan attacked the Genesis project David initially believed that Kirk was responsible, but quickly came to realise his mistake. Once the crisis was over Carol finally informed David of his relationship to Kirk, and the two finally established a father-son relationship. [1] David returned to the Genesis planet with the USS Grissom. He was stranded on the planet when the Grissom was destroyed by a Klingon vessel; the Klingons subsequently murdered David in an attempt to force Kirk to surrender. [2] After the death of his son, Kirk harboured a great hatred of Klingons for many years. [3]
