Elizabeth

TimelineQuotes
Universe : Prime Timeline
Name : Elizabeth [1]
Species : Humans

Elizabeth was a clone created by the Xenophobic terrorist group Terra Prime in 2154. The Terra Prime leader, John Frederick Paxton, to demonstrate to Earth the "genetic pollution" which would result from an alien presence on Earth. Paxton assumed that most Humans would react with disgust to Elizabeth's existence, garnering support for his agenda. [1]

Paxton used the DNA of T'Pol and Charles Tucker to create Elizabeth, essentially making her their daughter. Her existence came to light when Terra Prime member Susan Khouri delivered a lock of her hair to T'Pol. Genetic analysis revealed Elizabeth's existence and nature, prompting the NX-01 crew to intervene [1] and ultimately foil Paxton's plan. Unfortunately Elizabeth died in the aftermath from a combination of fever and elevated white blood cell count. [2]

Contrary to Paxton's hopes, Elizabeth's short life proved to be a rallying focus for anti-speciesist views. Phlox was brought close to tears by her death, commenting that his time on the NX-01 had begun as an interesting diversion but had led to his seeing the crew as his own family and that "it hurts as if she were my own child". The delegates at the inter-species conference which Paxton had hoped to destroy all requested permission to attend her funeral service as a gesture of unity. [2]

Perhaps most importantly, Phlox was able to show that Elizabeth's death was not due to any fundamental incompatibility between Human and Vulcan DNA, but rather a flaw in the cloning procedure that had created her. This was the first proof that Humans and Vulcans would be able to cross breed. [2]
