Universe : Kelvin Timeline
Name : George Kirk [1]
Species : Humans

A Starfleet officer during the 2230s, Georgo Kirk served aboard the USS Kelvin during the year 2233 along with his wife, Winona. In the Kelvin timeline, Kirk assumed command of the Kelvin when Nero demanded her captain surrender to the Narada. Kirk was only in command of the ship for twelve minutes, but during that period he ordered an evacuation when the Narada attacked, remaining behind to protect the retreating shuttles and then ramming and disabling the Narada to give them time to escape. His actions saved the lives of eight hundred crewmembers. Winona gave birth to Kirk's son in a shuttle as she evacuated the ship, and he had time to talk to her briefly before his death, rejecting the idea of naming his son Tiberius after his father, in favour of James after hers. His last words as the Kelvin rammed the Narada were to tell Winona that he loved her. Captain Pike would later write his dissertation on the Kelvin, and came to admire Kirk's "leap without looking" instinct and regret that Starfleet had, in his opinion, lost it over the years. [1]
