Apostate

TimelineQuotes
Universe : Prime Timeline
Name : Apostate [1]
Species : Shedai

A member of the Shedai leadership, called the Serrataal, the Apostate was one of the oldest of the Shedai - only the Maker was older still. When the Shedai retired from galactic affairs, the Apostate chose to spend the succeeding millennia conscious and alone in contemplation. He came to the conclusion that the Shedai way of dominating other species through brutal violence and fear was wrong, and vigorously opposed their attempt to return in 2266. [1]

Ultimately the Apostate and his followers - comprising approximately a third of the Shedai - fought against their comrades on their "First World", Jinoteur IV. He also personally assisted USS Sagittarius crewmember Ensign Vanessa Theriault when she was lost on the planet, explaining the history of his people whilst he battled. At her urging he freed the Tholians who had been bound to the Shedai Conduit system in order to amplify its power with their telepathic abilities. [1]

Ultimately the Apostate prevailed in the battle, defeating the Maker and casting the remaining Shedai Serrataal out to distant planets. He then apparently used the Conduit to destroy the entire Jinoteur system, or at least cause it to vanish. [1]
