Alexander Rozhenko

Species : Klingons

Son of Lieutenant Worf and K'Ehleyr, Alexander was born in 2366 on the 43rd day of Maktag. After the death of his mother, Worf sent Alexander to live with his grandparents Sergey and Helena Rozhenko.1 Unfortunately the two proved unable to cope with Alexander, and in 2368 Alexander returned to the Enterprise-D.2 Alexander was keen of holodeck programs set in the American west, and in 2369 he persuaded Worf and Troi to join him in a program designed Lieutenant Barclay. Unfortunately a computer error replaced all of the characters with duplicates of Lieutenant Commander Data, but Worf was able to resolve the situation.3

In 2370 Alexander was due to undergo the first Rite of Ascension, but he was disinclined to become a warrior. K'Mtar, a bodyguard sent by Worf's brother Kurn to warn him of an assasination attempt by the Duras family, was able to encourage Alexander to better understand his heritage. In reality K'Mtar was Alexander himself, having travelled back in time from the future to convince his younger self to become a warrior so that he could save his father's life.4

When Worf went to Deep Space Nine, Alexander again returned to Earth to live with his grandparents - this time far more happily.5 Eventually, however, he became again dissatisfied with life on Earth and came to blame his father for having once again abandoned him. He enlisted in the Klingon Defense Force and was assigned to the Bird of Prey Rotarran in 2374, where he served with his father during the Dominion war. The two found it difficult to get along, but came to a better understanding when Alexander agreed to join the House of Martok.6 He subsequently transferred to the battle cruiser I.K.S. Ya'Vang. Alexander spoke almost no Klingonese, but was honored when Worf asked him to act as Tawi'Yan (sword bearer) at his wedding to Jadzia in 2374.7
