Title : Star Trek: Klingon Academy Rating : 4
Platforms : Windows Year : 2000
Review : Definitely one of the few better Trek-licensed games out there, and the only game where you can properly relive the Battle of the Mutara Nebula. If you can find it in a bargain bin or at a used game store, definitely take the time to search the net for the patches, as with many of Interplay's Trek games, Klingon Academy was quite buggy with the initial release. Very engaging Klingon story line, if a bit on the short side. Mods can keep your attention for a bit, flying around in the Defiant shredding old Klingon ships is great fun.
Title : Star Trek: Legacy Rating : 2
Platforms : Windows, Xbox 360 Year : 2006
Review : This game would have gotten a 3 if I happened to meet ONE person on Xbox Live playing this game. That said, graphics are pretty good, except for TINY planets. I think the physics engine leaves a LOT to be desired, but it's nice to hear the actors reprising their roles. If you have the patience, it'll grow on you, until you finish the campaign, then it will sit on your shelf, or in a used bin at Gamestop or something. Fragging AI-controlled ships gets old, and all of my friends laugh at me when I suggest a split-screen battle. If you can score one under $20, then the Xbox version is worth the time.
Title : Star Trek: Starfleet Command Rating : 5
Platforms : Windows Year : 1999
Review : The game all captains from Starfleet Battles have been waiting for. Fairly good graphics for the times, VERY moddable, campaigns for all races, lots of SFB history, great music and sound. The bad: it was released by Interplay so patches abound, but at least still available on the net. First release was buggy but the patches resolved them for the most part.
Title : Star Trek: Starfleet Command II Rating : 5
Platforms : Windows Year : 2001
Review : First of, yes, another Interplay release that desperately needed patching. That aside, SFCII is SFC1 where every little bit of the game was a little bit better. More races, more ships, more tech/weopons, slightly better graphics, a more dynamic campaign engine. One complaint that comes to mind is the removal of officer levels. SFB and SFC1 both had officer levels from rookie to veteren to legendary, where their level affects the performance of your ships' systems. Overall, an improvement over the original, but I wasn't nearly as excited about it when it was released as I was when the original came out.
Title : Star Trek: Voyager Elite Force Rating : 5
Platforms : Macintosh, Play Station 2, Windows Year : 2000
Review : When I got bored with Counter-Strike, Rainbow 6 and Ghost Recon, this is what I spent entire school nights playing. Phasers, great graphics (for the time), and a LARGE mod community kept this game alive and kicking for years. One of the best Trek games ever!
Title : Star Trek: Starfleet Command III Rating : 1
Platforms : Windows Year : 2002
Review : One of the biggest disappointments in the history of Trek gaming IMO. The whole POINT of the Starfleet Command series was it's complexity as any SFB player will attest, and this hopefully last installment got rid of just about all of it. And setting it in the TNG universe is the match that sets this bag of poo on fire. Now if I get off my SFB elitest soapbox for a sentence, this is a semi-decent game if you have absolutely no idea what SFB is, however, my rating of this game stands.
Title : Star Trek Starfleet Command: Orion Pirates Rating : 4
Platforms : PSP, Windows Year : 2001
Review : This game should have came with EAW. The only notable thing it adds are the Pirate campaigns and the X-ships of SFB lore. A solid expansion, but priced as a full game when it was released.
