It takes a little getting used to, but after 3 or so missions you'll be fine :)

Has anyone else noticed a similarity between the Geth and the Cylons.........and that race that one alien chick on her pilgrimage is on to the BSG Colonial fleet? The Taurians remind me of the Kilrathi from Wing Commander, and so forth.

It seems like the game has taken many little different things from many different Sci-Fi franchises.

And that's a problem? The way the Turians and the Quarians/Geth is all played out just brings at all together under one roof

Mass Effect has been described as a Reconstruction of the space opera genre. The tropes page for it is huge because rather than avoid them it embraces them, reinvents them, and makes them fresh again.

And yes, I fucking love Mass Effect.

In ME2 they also throw in a bit of borg into the geth and a bit of klingon into the krogans. No matter.....

Not at all. I kind of get a kick out of going "Hey, I know those guys!"

BTW, it looks like I may have something going with Williams and\or Liara (the alien with the flowerbulb head)......can I have sex with either, or better......both?

You can't. Apparently no one at Bioware has heard of a threesome.

Well, what about one after another? And which one of them shows the infamous "sideboob"?

No. The progression of the romance is tied to the story and your choice of a partner is final. I don't think there's any difference in side boob. I assume you're playing a male character so you get it with either Ashley or Liara, just one is blue and the other isn't. I think the real uproar was over the fact that you can have a girl girl thing with Liara and a FemShep.

Ashley's kind of a bitch if you ask me. I dunno, only seen her from the FemShep side of things but on the whole she's a bit hung up on her past for me* and never seems to be able to get out of it. Maybe different if your Shepherd is male.

*Which I say in full knowledge of going after Jack with my male Shep in ME2.

Well, it does seem that Liara is more into my male Shepard. Ashley keeps putting me off, but then makes comments like "I'm a hellcat OFF the battlefield too Commander."
