The Infiltrator

Post by DarkOmen »

This is the Infiltrator from Rochey's Laithan story. It is a ship operated by Section 31. It includes all of the latest tech that S31 aquired through various means.

I'm tryin out a new layout, let me know what you think.

If anyone ( *cough* thorin *cough* ) wants to make some specs for me, please do :P

The Vigilant class was a federation class that got dumped for the Eternity clas... S31 took the spaceframes and hulls and made their own small fleet to do their biddings.

You can really see the Intrepid influence in this ship. Also a little Niagra in the botton section.

Interesting design with some pretty impressive power behind it.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Of course, S31 would use all that tech which nobody else would. But the design itself is a very nice logical progression from the latest starships we've seen onscreen.

Love the top and side views, but it looks a bit thick from the front for my tastes. I think I would take a deck, maybe two, out of the design to make it look sleeker.

Thanks guys!!

I think the front looks a little bloated too, but i actually did draw the front and side first, so i had to constrain to those proportions...

This is insanely powerful! The speed, torpedos, and hull bring it up insanely. Be warned. I also took a little artistic licence with the phasers and quantum torpedo (upgraded the phasers a little and changed quantum launcher from a pulse to rapid fire). I made the transphasics about as powerful as 40 quantum torpedos. Hull and slipstream is pretty simple, we know the strength of both. However, for the slipstream, I took the maximum cruise as the "comparison velocity", as opposed to maximum rated, because it can only be held for 1 hour (the reason for this is because warp 9.99999 is about 3 times faster than 9.99998). Though I don't understand the point of having a quantum torpedo launcher when you've got 5 transphasis torpedo launchers, even though I did make the transphasic torpedos fire 4 times slower than the quantum torpedos.

Jeez! One of those things could probably tear through a whole fleet of Laithan warships.

Ahahah!!... I love you Thorin :)

and i figured the tranphaisic torpedos were a completely different configuration, so i left the QTL to fire standard probes and specialty warheads

Ahhh, yeah just a normal multi-purpose launcher.
Really though it's stats are actually a little weak (I thought it was going a bit too high...). One transphasic torpedo could destroy a borg cube, and the armour was as good as impenetrable. It's speed is off the chart (that's what really brings it up). And then there's the phase cloak! Considering the Scimitar had shields and could fire when cloaked, imagine what the Infiltrator could do! Firing transphasics while cloaked, and then even if they did get a lucky shot, the torpedo would pass straight through you!

Wasn't that cloak different to the phase cloak, though?
