So I started my biology class today and I have a bad taste in my mouth already, teacher in 50 minutes said that:

-We have already cloned a Dinosaur. They took a Wooly Mammoth embreo and crossed it with an Elephant.

Did I miss something? Mammoths and Dinosaurs are only seperated by 65 million years!!! Not to mention Dinosaurs are lizards!! UGH!

-Humanity is over due for another population crash. Our last one was 600,000 years ago.

WTF?! Humanity as we know it wasn't around 600,000 years ago! And we had a mass extinction like 40k years ago that knocked the race down to just 20 breedable females.

ZOMG! There's no hope for me at school or at work!

How the hell did someone like that get to be a teacher? Do you have inspections where you live?

Jurassic Park of course - it's obvious that the film is a paragon of scientific accuracy.

Wait... I detect a note of sarcasm there.

*Gasp* Are you saying Jurassic park isn't scientifically accurate? Oh, no! ;) :p

Or maybe she saw Walking with Dinosaurs and assumed it was filmed in some new nature preserve?

Actually, a while ago they had a doccumentary style program that dealt with a nature reserve full of dinosaurs. It was quite interesting. Perhaps she got the idea from there? Although the CGI wasn't great so it was a bit obvious they were fake. Still...
