With my car inspection last Thursday, I am looking forward to my next day off where I do nothing.

The latest in my life: Last Saturday, (I mean yesterday) I went to my first ever live hockey game. I now love hockey and want MORE. I also got drunk.

I also got drunk tonight. No reason, it just happened.

I didn't realize that Deep would be a Ravens fan (they're a Baltimore team! DUH) and just embarrassed myself on their facebook page.

Well, as my 30th fast approaches I have come to several conclusions about my life:

- For various reasons, my job with Cooperative is not for me.
- Relating to the above, I have decided to get back into education, learn some new skills, and get myself a proper career. My neighbour is a college tutor, and I had a chat with her about what I was interested in, also had a good chat with my girlfriend, and I've found a course for Accountancy with ICS Learning.
- As I have plenty of money at the moment, I'm going to go for this course, carry on working at the Cooperative (but reduced to my contracted hours). I'm getting a pay rise to the next Tier anyway, so it shouldn't affect my income too much. I've also spoken to my bank on ways to improve my credit rating (which is neutral) which has been very helpful.
- Things with my girlfriend have vastly improved after nine-months of lies and crap on her behalf. We've had a massive heart to heart a few weeks back, and she has said she will stop all this dishonesty and mind games as she doesn't want to lose me. Perhaps being the nice guy does work out in the long run, lol.

So in conclusion: relationship is back on track, bank is happy with me and helping to improve my credit rating, and I'm going to look for a career in something I actually enjoy, rather than just have a "job".

2012 has been a bad year, relationship-wise, too many deaths, and various other reasons. I am feeling much more optimistic for the future now though :)

Sounds like a good plan Tinadrin, glad to hear it. My life's on the rise as well, The latter half of this year is honestly shaping up to be one of the best.

What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

I misread that as 'No Sleep in Brooklyn' and got a Beastie Boys vibe.

My (desktop) PC's power supply mysteriously died last night. There was no power surge of any sort last night and the computer is connected through a UPS (uninterruptible power supply, or battery backup). Thankfully I was able to get to a nearby Staples to pick up a replacement this morning which is now installed and working -- and there was no other damage caused by the failure of the power supply other than the hit on my wallet to purchase the replacement.

Whew.
