Dark Heresy: Thinking Ahead
So, thinking ahead to the end of the current Illumination campaign, I'm considering some different options. If anyone is interested in continuing:
1. Same party. Moving to a different assignment
2. An armour themed game, probably a recce troop
3. Starting a series with an overall arch, same party/new party
Thoughts, comments, questions, concerns?

I like options 1 and 3, and keeping the same party. Option 2 could be fun as well but my preference would be keeping the same party.

Option 1 is what we're doing now, a mission but it's standalone with no connection to anything.
Option 2 is a troop of four vehicles engaged in a planetary campaign against *insert enemy*. I was thinking a recce troop (3 x Salamander, 1 x Trojan/Chimera) scouting out an Ork landing or maybe Nids. This would pretty much limit us to Guardsmen and Techpriests, maybe a Cleric if the Regiment is particularly devout. Could be anywhere in the IoM, basically we use the DH system to ride around in AFV's, kill things and break shit.
Option 3 is what where doing now but part of an overall plot, like xenos infiltration on different worlds that leads up to something.
Edit: If there's sufficient interests in Option 2 to run it in addition, then that could happen as well.

I like option three. Two is very tempting but I like the idea of playing our characters out long enough to really beef them out.

Option 3 for me as well. Continuing a story arc only adds to char development.

I like my character, I want to see how she can go. And I like the team. Keep it rolling till we all die I say.

See, that's the kind of smugness that some GMs would take as an excuse to kill your character.Tsukiyumi wrote:Pahr's going to die from old age on a beach somewhere.Lighthawk wrote:...Keep it rolling till we all die I say.

Re: Dark Heresy: Thinking Ahead
I'll go with option 3. I like the idea of an over-arching plot.
"You've all been selected for this mission because you each have a special skill. Professor Hawking, John Leslie, Phil Neville, the Wu-Tang Clan, Usher, the Sugar Puffs Monster and Daniel Day-Lewis! Welcome to Operation MindFuck!"
