What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Put simply, it's a ship that's agreed by pretty much everyone to be one of (if not the) most powerful ship classes in all of sci-fi. It's from Ian M Banks' Culture series, which any good sci-fi fan should read.
"You've all been selected for this mission because you each have a special skill. Professor Hawking, John Leslie, Phil Neville, the Wu-Tang Clan, Usher, the Sugar Puffs Monster and Daniel Day-Lewis! Welcome to Operation MindFuck!"

Also a ship that can quite often be arrogant, smug, or a smart-a**.

Another series on my to-read list..............I'm falling behind it seems
They say that in the Army,
the women are mighty fine.
They look like Phyllis Diller,
and walk like Frankenstein.

Same here - I keep meaning to get "Look to Windward", and I still haven't finished "Necropolis" (despite finishing the first two months ago).
Only two things are infinite - the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the universe: Albert Einstein.

I personally seem to be in a "fantasy" liturature phase right now. Swords, sorcery, dragons, and such.

I'm currently due to get deeper into the Culture series, as well as Dan Abnett's Gaunt's Ghosts WH40k series.
