A group of aliens settle in Earths Mediterranean region. Thanks to their highly developed telekinetic powers the inhabitants of Greece worship the aliens as Gods. When the Humans outgrow the need for such a religion the aliens depart. Most of them commit suicide over the next few thousand years. The last, Apollo, attempts to force the crew of the USS Enterprise to worship him in 2267. [1]

The Enterprise encounters Apollo, an alien being of immense power. Apollo and his kind visited Earth thousands of years ago, inspiring the Greek civilisation to worship them as gods. Apollo hopes to recreate this encounter with the Enterprise crew, but is unable to convince them to worship him. Apollo, the last of his kind, destroys himself after his failure. [3]
