What is the need for "random love interest of the week" stories in modern fiction? Does anybody really think Terry Farrell is going to quit her lucrative job working on DS9? (She apparently does later, but we'll overlook that!) So if Dax isn't going to stay behind and it's a safe bet her love interest won't suddenly become a recurring regular in the show, everything that happens in this episode is basically moot. And it took two people to write it. Shame, as everything Frakes touches usually turns to gold. |
