The product of a union between a Romulan and a Klingon, Ba'El lived her early life in a Romulan prison camp after her mother was captured during the Khittomer massacre. She thought of the camp as her home, and was happy to live there until Worf visited in 2369 and inspired her to explore her cultural heritage. [2]
