During that time he was assigned by Scotty to repair a power relay. He encountered Dr. Bashir and Chief O'Brien inspecting the relay. They were able to convince him not to report their presence since Bashir claimed to be doing a study on work-related stress, with O'Brien as a patient suffering from overwork. [2]
