Three months after being picked up straight to series by Freeform, Marvel's New Warriors has found its cast.

Milana Vayntrub (This Is Us) has landed the breakout role of Squirrel Girl, while Baby Daddy grad Derek Theler will stay in business with Freeform after landing the role of Mister Immortal in Marvel's first live-action scripted comedy.

The duo lead the ensemble cast in the 10-episode series about six young people learning to cope with their abilities in a world where bad guys can be as terrifying as bad dates. Joining Vayntrub and Theler are Jeremy Tardy as Night Thrasher, Calum Worthy as Speedball, Matthew Moy as Microbe and Kate Comer as Debrii.

She's the one on the right.

I thought we'd done with furies a while back:

She actually looks like she would make a better Wonder Woman.

I have to admit I never, ever considered that Squirrel Girl would be a Furries thing. It's right there but, it never registered.

Oh, my daughter will be pleased at her oracular powers.

Same here.

Good casting, IMHO. I don't know that much of her, but the appearance I most strongly remember of Vayntrub's (outside an AT&T commercial) was her appearance on @Midnight, which she absolutely crushed. Now my nerd-wheels are spinning in the hopes that a plotline will remain true to the comics and Squirrel Girl crosses over to appear in The Defenders as Luke Cage's and Jessica Jones' nanny.

I rather like Squirrel Girl. This might be the first MCU TV show I watch.

Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage are pretty good. Just only watch Iron Fist if you want the background. Helps to watch with a friend to. Suffer together kind of thing.
