Ooh, pretty. Although not much of a cutaway.

It's a big station.

True, but its the best thats out there from what I can see. :(

Indeed. I really hope JMS is actively working on his theatrical reboot, that would be amazing to see, especially with the latest CG.

Random thoughts:

What exactly are the blue fins?

I used to think that they were solar panels, but that doesn't make sense since they aren't oriented toward the sun, they're just there.

Then I remembered that B5 is fusion powered. So it must give off a lot of heat, so I suppose they must be radiators?

I always thought they were heat radiators.

Well, thank you for posting it. :)

I thought they were solar panels. Babylon 4 had them and the ships definitely did not have them.

I thought since Babylon 5 was stationary that they included them in the design since the station was always in direct contact from the sunlight.

Was it?

It looks like far side doesn't get any light?

Also its pretty well established that it has a fusion reactor. Its located on the cylinder that sticks out from the main body, although I'm not sure if its the large one at the end or the disc in the middle.

Sadly there aren't any tech references for B5. =\

Well it never turned.

And the station stayed in the same place though it is hard to determine if the station stayed with the planet of it did orbit sun and have the similar issues as our Sun would have.

I supposed that it did orbit/rotate with the planet as they did have sun rises, but I do not recall a time when the planet was between them and the jump gate...

Actually, wouldn't the jump gate be stationary?

Stationary compared to what?

If it was stationary compared to the planet, it would fall into it.

Unless it was at a Lagrange point.

La Grange points move... if it was in one, it wouldn't be stationary.

I would expect that the solar system that they are in moves. Epsilon 3 would orbit its star, and so if the jumpgate was stationary in orbit around Epsilon 3 it would still be moving around the Epsilon star.
