Argus render

Another support ship, this one a little different. The Kesval and Akranine classes are Turgran ships, each specialised for a particular type of replenishment; the Humans take a different approach, designing a "one ship" support system. The Argus thus has fuel tanks and two fuel boom arms, M/Am tanks and two replenishment boom arms for them, plus a massive stock of torpedoes (4,032 to be exact), with two reloading cranes for them at the rear. It also carries thousands of tons of stores - everything from food and water to consumer products.

On top of that, the forward dorsal section is a network of huge salvage/recovery bays. The Argus carries specialist subships which can recover damaged fighters, or escape pods, and return them to the ship where they can be repaired. There's also facilities to manufacture spares and generally support ships on the go. Essentially, having one or two of these along means a fleet of warships can stay in the field and remain in full effectiveness for a very long time, even after battles, rather than having to go back to a port all the time.

Love the idea of an all-in-one resupply ship... I wonder of the M/AM or fuel stores specifically are limited compared to the Turgran analogs because of the JOAT nature of the Argus.

Oh yes, very much so. The fuel tanks and M/AM tanks are both identical to the Turgran models, so just compare the numbers - 10 fuel tanks and 4 M/AM tanks on the Argus, versus 45 fuel tanks on a Kesval and 20 M/AM tanks on an Akranine.
