This one came quick, because it's largely a modification of the Colisels since it comes from the same era. It shares the same repellor drive and power reactor as the Colisels and similar overall layout. No heavy laser cannon, and only four of the CIWS units fitted. Similar but less complex sensor/comms system and a different sail design with no armour on it. Much smaller rotational pressure hull at the front, and much larger and more numerous fuel tanks - this ship is a tanker vessel, intended to support long term deployments.
There are a couple more ships to come in this batch - a troop transport and a frigate.

Just as when you introduced the universe and your original designs, I love to see the lineage and progression between generations of these ships. One can truly see how one generation bred the next, which I know you've taken pains to make obvious. Quick question: the normal natural impulse when designing the four-sail ships would be to have the sails intersect perpendicularly; is there an IU reason for having them otherwise oriented?

Sails spread at even angles give better flight stability and finer control, whilst having them closer together gives better acceleration and speed. The Colisels gain maybe 5-10% speed by having their sails closer together like that, as compared to what they'd get in an X configuration. But for a bulky support ship speed is less important and more control is more so.
It's much like how an F-14 or Tornado have wings that can be swept for high speed or spread for agility and economy. As a matter of fact, I've toyed around with having sails that are variable geometry, able to either change the spread angle, or sweep backwards, or both.
