Crap, that sucks.

He mentioned not blocking ads on his site... is there anything more we can do than that? Does clicking on the ads generate revenue for him or something?

I truly feel for him. My mother left my dad with 5 kids because of serious mental health conditions, and I now suffer similar issues myself.

As a former carer for my mum, and knowing how the kids must feel, I can only say that my heart goes out to him, his wife, and their children.

Well shit. Turned off Adblock, not sure if clicking the adds help or just having them show up.

I never knew he managed to make a living off of SFD though, thats kind of impressive considering his going rates are pretty cheap. He must make a fair amount from adds, considering his audience I imagine a lot use addblock, so hopefully that helps a bit.

I don't know. He didn't ask for more than turning off adblocker, or just whitelisting his sites. Someone on star trek reddit says they've been running his reviews and clicking on the ads all day since reading this.

Even if I used adblock, I wouldn't use it for him. That seriously sucks. :(

Chuck has started a membershipish donation for his site, all voluntary, but you can donate certain amounts a month (from 1 dollar to 200) the low amount is just being nice, but if you donate a bit you get to vote on upcoming reviews ect, and just help the guy out. He seems to be doing pretty well already. Good for him. I signed up for $5 a month since I really dont care to be in the review process but wanted to contribute, his review have given heaps of entertainment over the years.
