http://blip.tv/sf-debris-opinionated-re ... ew-6288677 This is the episode where T'Pol tells Archer the story of her great-grandmother crash landed on Earth.
Opinionated Enterprise Episode Guide looks at a season two episode that barely stars anyone you know, but it makes up for it by having Blalock play another character in an equally lifeless way, hurray for us. Includes a discussion of what makes things worth watching and reading.

I... actually kinda like this episode. If only for the 'I Love Lucy' line. ;)

I love the idea of aliens lost on a primitive planet. I just wonder what the point of this story was. T'Pol can tell stories? Jolene Blalock is a stiff? Personally I would want to know more about that Vulcan who stayed behind. Did he matter in the history of Earth? Did he build a survivalist shack and live another hundred years? Did he have sex? Did he father children? Otherwise how did he handle Pon'faar?

He just wandered around, walking stick in hand and cap on head. ;) It was entertaining to me. I didn't feel like I wasted time watching it.

I put "Carbon Creek" in the realm of cute, amusing, perhaps mildly inventive... but not "great."

I put in in the feild of pointless. I'd rather an anomoly of the week then another story time.

Isn't the point of a TV show ultimately storytelling?

One would hope relivant story telling, this added nothing to any of the current characters or plot line.

I would say that self-contained plot lines are every bit as part of modern series as story arcs are. At the conclusion of the story arcs from ENT, was there any difference?

I rather liked this one. I thought it was an interesting story in its own right, but also it was a nice little moment for T'Pol; the fact that she told it as a true story, and then let them believe it was just a story... it was essentially a little joke she played on them. Vulcans of this era were so stuffy and mean spirited, it was nice to see T'Pol lighten up a little for once.
