Zombie RP and Missions Wargame

Post by Deepcrush »

You die next...

Okay, so since our RPs are taking in some interest lately. Would anyone be interested in a stand alone RP?

What were you thinking of?

Speaking of which, have you had any more brainwaves regarding that tactical planning exercise you used to run?

I've noticed a jump in zombie based RPs because most of the players are simply writing in for themselves and it doesn't require everyone taking turns. Its also as fast or as slow paced as the players want.

Something like this could be fun for those of us that like to RP but have awkward time issues in RL. I prefer more tactically sound RPing, where as people less experienced with such a thing could play out as a civ trying to survive in the new age of walking dead.

Yeah, about that... *runs out the door and speeds away*

To be honest I totally forgot about it. If some folks would like it back up and running I'll get it going again.

Very much so, if you've got the time to organise it.

What kind of RP are you talking, there? Like an open story-type (ala Daystrom), or one with a combat system (like Lighthawk's Survival)?

I wasn't really planning a combat system. Guess it would be a combo of the two. Like the survival in that people would often be alone or maybe pairs, Daystrom in that people would resolve their own issues. If you guys wanted a more GM based game I wouldn't mind since I have the time now. I was thinking of it because things with the Sims can get locked up with the wars or if people are busy.

Sounds like a good plan, there. A combo of the two would be cool; maybe some of the characters would meet up at some point. We could use similar rules to 40k, and the GM could just throw scenarios at players at random intervals to spice things up.

I just don't think it would be as fun without the stats and chance of a combat system. I could help you brainstorm a "40k lite" combat system if you'd like.

A 40k-ish system wouldn't be to hard. We could just use the basic 0-100 system and then just fudge it from there.

Would it be easier to use the TT type stats? I'm not sure it would, just asking?

Problem with TT is there's almost no room for improvement on things. If its a long running game then I'd like to be able to let people build up their character's stats along with their character's stories.

Too true. Like I said, just a thought. I guess rolling two dice is as easy as one, though.

Pretty much, I'll be using the online dice roller anyways. So now we have two things to think about.

A, who interested in restarting the Missions Wargame?

B, who interested in starting a zombie RP?
