Shall we get the ball rolling?
Re: Shall we get the ball rolling?
Again, I don't disagree. But we're being sent to figure out what the hell is going on with our ships out there disappearing, and to provide some "guns".
The Ravage would be there already, and perhaps the Daystrom. The Paladin and GCS troops ship would be dispatched once this problem is recognized for what it is.
As far as troops, an uprated GCS could easily accomidate its crew of 400 (maybe increased to 700 with science officers and no families), so should be able to maintain a full battalion (1000 troops)=five 200 man companies plus staff, as well as their vehicles.

Re: Shall we get the ball rolling?
I tend to agree. If we're being sent to follow up on a problem, rather than start the exploration on our own, I think we'd best keep the task group as simple as possible. Hospital ships might be available at need from the Starbase - or as likely, large numbers of casualties would just be evac'd to the Starbase. We're not conducting a full-scale campaign in an established theater of operations, after all. Ravage to investigate, Daystrom for muscle and follow-up investigation (via auxiliary craft,) Paladin for linebacker duty, and GCS for troop deployment and resupply when and if the lead ships determine the need.
As we're investigating an already-occurring problem, I don't think we need scouts or science ships - those are probably the issues which we're investigating.
Does that about sum up your thoughts, Mark?

Can we have more than two characters? I'm thinking of a Falcon squadron commander on the Big-D.

Has multiple characters or a flight commander?
What rank would that be?

More than two characters, that is.
The flight commander could be anything from a lieutenant to a commander, though I'd expect either a first lieutenant or a lt. commander.

That summed them up quite nicely, actually.

OK, task group listing is up. Sorry, but I couldn't readily find the registration number of the Ravage (if we ever had one.) Grr'lek and Corrin will be added once their posts are determined, and everyone else will be billeted once their bios are up.

I'm planning to. I've got a lot to do in the next two weeks, but I'll get in if I can.Mark wrote:Tsuki, will you be joining us on the Ravage???

Re: Shall we get the ball rolling?
I plan on having my 2 characters written up by the end of tomorrow. First I have to think on which ship/position they should be.

Re: Shall we get the ball rolling?
Well, so far we've only got me on the Paladin (Captain is an NPC), and I doubt Roachy will take up his XO mantle.

This should be fun. Reliant is putting a smoking hot chic on the Daystrom. Holmes will love it.

I planned that interplay there.
I left details largely to imagination, I have no idea who is an attractive female or not so I'm leaving it at that.

Female and Italian or not... she's a pilot and you are an English male, Reliant, and there's a better than average chance that I will refer to her as "Biggles" at some point.
I noticed you mentioned "Alpha flight commander." As a lt. commander, I'd think she'd be the commander of the whole fighter wing. Up to you; that could even be a de facto position, with the only official commands being of the individual squadrons. I'll add Bianca to the Daystrom roll.
