I predict suck.Shia OK's Indy V
But what is Spielberg's idea for the new movie?
August 20, 2010
by Phil Pirrello We don't know what the proposed fifth Indiana Jones movie is about, but it seems to involve Mutt Williams.
Actor and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull co-star Shia LaBeouf recently met with director Steven Spielberg, according to Showbiz Spy.com, and heard The Beard's pitch on the idea. The verdict? Even Stevens likes it.
"They're script writing right now," LaBeouf told Showbix. "I got called into Steven's office and he pitched a little bit to me and it sounds crazy, it sounds really cool."
We hope "crazy" doesn't translate into more nuked fridges or an army of vine-swinging monkeys.
What's interesting to note is that the fifth movie seems to have quietly entered the scripting process, one we hope is less laborious than Crystal Skull's. Writers like Frank Darabont, Jeb Stuart and M. Night Shyamalan all contributed drafts throughout the project's extensive development.
No word on who the writer is, but it's safe to assume that, like with the other Indy films, George Lucas is taking first crack at the story.
It will be quite some time before Spielberg can focus his energies on the project, however. The director is currently in production on his WWII film War Horse, and is still tinkering with his work on the live-action TinTin. His dance card is also full with everything from the long-gestating Lincoln bio-pic to sci-fi project Interstellar.
In short: Fans waiting for the Man With the Hat's next adventure should get comfy.

I concur with "extreme" suck since Shia "whinier then Anakin" LaBeouf seems to be geared as the main character...
I would love an emotional Indy V where the real Indy, Harrison Ford, has to get over his son's death which happens 20 seconds into the opening credits, and then we can go on with making Indy V as good as Indy 3...

So, is LaBeouf taking over like a Young Indy Jr. (Lord, I hope not!) or is Harry Ford gonna prove he can still wear the fedora?

Personally I wouldn't mind if they pulled a James Bond and just cast another actor to play Indy.
As long as it's not Shia LeBouff, that is.

I don't think Shia is about to take over as the new Indy. At the end of the last one, Shia's character was about to take the fedora before the real Indy took it away from him.
I don't have anything against him, by the way. And, whinier than Anakin? How can that happen?

Have you seen the Transformers movies, he whined the whole way through, he got a hot babe as a gf, he gets to say he saved the world twice, and he has a frickin amazing car, and all he can do is whine about the fact that its not his war or some other bs he can come up with. It's so annoying.Varthikes wrote:I don't think Shia is about to take over as the new Indy. It's the character though. Mutt isn't a whiney bitch like Sam is. They've got to move Harrison out though at some point. He's just getting too long in the tooth. he might have one more Indy in him but that's the best you can hope for.

I agree with the first two sentences, but the rest is crap.
You honestly think you'd last ten seconds against a 60-year old Ranger? Or even a Marine?
Indy was, and still is a badass. Period. He's at least got another two movies to go.

Yeah, you're missing the point. Harrison is the one I'm talking about not Indy and Harrison Ford isn't going to be going for action movies much longer.Tsukiyumi wrote:I agree with the first two sentences, but the rest is crap.

Hopefully he'll do Indy 5, and they'll stop the franchise before Shia the whiney bitch can become the new (crappy) Indy...Tyyr wrote:Yeah, you're missing the point. Not as whiney, no, but still not interesting as a character either.Mutt isn't a whiney bitch like Sam is.
He's just a tough guy wannabe, and never evolves to full tough guy mercenary archeologist status like his father.
I would even take Zach Efron as the new Indy before I... Come to think of it, maybe not...
