Large Tzenkethi Fleet Attacks Talarians
Talaria

A large fleet composed of the Tholian ships purchased last year as well as an additional 50 Cardassian Darhal Class Vessels crossed the border into Talarian Space and attacked the remainder of the Talarian Fleet. They destroyed every ship, running down those that attempted to escape before turning their sites on the Shipyard and Starbase facilities destroying those as well.

When the Tzenkethi Fleet reached the planet their citizens had been held on, scans confirmed they missing citizens had been killed and buried in mass graves. The Tzenkethi immediately opened fire on the planet killing 7 billion Talarians. They have since remained active in Talarian Space, and have taken hostile action against all ships which refuse search and inspection including trade and cargo freighters.

The Tzenkethi has made no announcement on it's actions to date, but one is expected before the year is out.
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Tzenkethi Overestimate
Tzenketh

Following the devastating strikes against Talarian citizens the Tzenkethi President announced that the Talarian abuse of Tzenkethi citizens would not be tolerated. Every Tzenkethi citizen abducted or imprisoned by the Talarians would result in a dead Talarian. Every Tzenkethi citizen killed would result in two dead Talarians.

The Tzenkethi overestimated the lieniency that would be shown to them by the other major powers as immediate protest from both the Federation and Union rang out over the issue. The Tzenkethi Government remained silent while discussion of their fate proceeded.

Federation Steps in
Sol

Following an announcement by the Cardassian Union that of moving in warships to occupy Tzenkethi and Talarian Space the Federation announced that the Tzenkethi government had accepted terms to surrender their leadership and what could be recalled of their military to Starfleet and would become a Protectorate of the United Federation of Planets for 20 years.

The decision was a major point of controversy between the Federation and Union who have resumed hostile tones in the last few months of the year. One especially controversial point was launching of the Tzenkethi Fleet on an offensive against the Cardassians with no way to recall them. The last act of the Tzenkethi leader was to attempt a recall of the fleets but it was unknown how successful it would be.

Cardassian Union Destroys Tzenkethi Fleets
Cardassia

Several Cardassian Orders moved in on the Talarian and Tzenkethi borders where they intercepted two fleets moving in Cardassian Space near the borders. The Fleets immediately opened fire on the two fleets in separate engagements.

The first fleet, which appeared to be enroute for 59 offered little challenge as the outdated weapons of the Tzenkethi and old Gorn ships were no match for the Cardassian models now employed.

The second fleet however was dead in space and is reported to have transmitted an unconditional surrender to the Cardassian Fleet; however this transmission was ignored as the fleet proceeded to wipe them out. The Cardassian Government has not released any information confirming or denying this statement.

Tzenkethi Fleet Attacks Cardassia
Cardassia

With the fleet battles near the border having completed with no other ships in site it appeared the Tzenkethi threat had been dealt with. That was until a large fleet of 2000 Tholian Attack ships and 50 Darhal Class Cruisers decloaked just outside the Cardassian system and engaged the Unions Guard Order stationed there.

The Tzenkethi Commander demonstrated great valour and ability against the much more expierenced Cardassian Commander and was able to destroy the Cardassian Fleet; although the Tzenkethi suffered losses well over 50%. The Fleet gathered in orbit of Cardassia where they were unable to break through the Shield in place; however they were able to destroy the systems space station as well as the orbital construction lines before the third order was able to arrive and finish them off.

The Cardassian Government is not expected to remain silent for long on this issue as it is sure to be a major point of contention within the Cardassian population.

Jacorn Government Collapses
Jacora

In early March the Republic Party’s Coalition collapsed when several major members walked away from the administration citing an unknown executive decision which directly or indirectly went against established policy and their political aims.

It was at this point that several groups fractioned out of the two predominant parties. This sparked a massive re-organization of the Jacorn political spectrum. Following this the executive was forced to call for new elections as general unrest among the population began to demand such.

The morphing political stage continued to take effect as several new parties were formed and swallowed up to form a new political stage which includes very few parties from just a year ago. Those that did survive include the Techno Party, the Master Party, the Confederate party, as well as the Republic and Alliance Parties.

The elections which were held in November resulted in the Republic Party retaining the Plurality and keeping the current President in office. Charged with the uneasy task of creating a coalition from these new still changing political entities the President will likely have to rewrite several long-standing Jacorn Policies and precedents to maintain the new coalition.

The final coalition selection is the Techno Party, the National Party, and the Conservative Party indicating the Executive will begin to error towards a more conservative approach.

Tholians Invade Yrridian Space
Yrridia

A massive fleet of some 4,000 Tholian warships crossed the Yrridian border in April headed toward planet 225. Along the way the Yrridian Border Fleet intercepted the invasion force and attempted to fight them back; however they were woefully outgunned and overpowered being utterly destroyed after inflicting only minimal losses and minor damage. The Tholian fleet is believed to have reached 225 before returning to Tholian space at the end of April.

The fleet crossed the border again in June where they were engaged by a second Yrridian Fleet which was able to use the damage inflicted by the first fleet to secure a much larger casualty rating on the Tholians; however, they too were destroyed. The Tholian Fleet is again believed to have reached 225 possibly landing troops on the surface; however the exact nature of this trip is unknown as the fleet again had to return to Tholian space at the end of June.

August saw the return of the Tholian fleet which proceeded on course to 225 without meeting any opposition. This fleet is highly suspected to have landed troops and taken the planet. However, the fleet was again forced to leave it’s post by the end of August and return to Tholian space. The fleet maintained this pattern returning again in October, and December, likely to provide support and supplies to troops on the ground.

The motivation behind these actions by the Tholians is unknown, nor is their ultimate intention. The Yrridian Government has remained silent throughout the ordeal.
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Starfleet Strengthens Alliance
Jacora

With the rapid build up of newer starships many of Starfleet’s older models have begun to be phased out and have build up in mothballs. Indeed such iconic ships as the Sisko, formerly Defiant, Class have come to the end of their existence in Starfleet.

It appears they will however continue to serve on the frontlines as Starfleet has completed a deal of some kind that has allowed the Jacorn Alliance to come into possession of some 1,000 of these vessels.

“This should represent a serious boosting of the Jacorn Fleet both in terms of firepower as well as sheer numbers.” One analyst commented. “While exact details aren’t known it is largely believed that the majority of the Jacorn Fleet is composed of much older models with only a few larger craft being up to respectable standards. The Sisko’s should provide a large number of smaller craft that can hang with anything the Tholians, Yrridians, or Sheliak can send at them.”

Explosions precede Tholian Fleet
Jacora

Jacorn detection grids monitored several large explosions on 227 that went off hours before the Tholian Fleet arrived. At the distances involved exact scans are impossible to have; however it appears the areas were mostly rural with little development, and little to no volatile structure to account for the explosions.

The Yrridian government remains in blackout and has not made any comment on the explosions, meanwhile the Tholian government is claiming that the explosions were research facilities where the Yrridians were working on their weapons, and were detonated before the Tholian ground forces could find and secure it.

Fleet’s engage over Yrridia
Yrridia

A Jacorn fleet lay in wait while the Tholians, confident from their prior victories, entered the Yrridian homeworld system. As the Tholians charged weapons to begin an orbital bombardment the Jacorn fleet emerged from under cloaks to engage them.

The Jacorn Fleet used some form of weapon to almost instantly immobilize over 400 Tholian ships. The ensuing battle was violent for both sides with over 500 Tholian Loskene Class taking on 85 Jacorn vessels.

The result of the battle had a handful of Tholian ships fleeing back toward Tholian controlled space to report the battle, and two Jacorn ships remaining in orbit. The Jacorn sent in further forces following the battle; however there has been little activity from the Tholians.

Nagus Terminally Ill
Feranginar

After several years of rumor the Office of the Nagus officially announced that the Nagus is currently in the final stages of a rare disease known as Switzaran Syndrome. The disease is known to lie dormant for many years before surfacing and is notorious for causing death within a few years of symptoms starting. The Office confirmed that the Nagus is not expected to survive another year.

The office announced that the Nagus had picked a successor and the proper procedures had already been implemented to inform the successor at the time of the Nagus’ death. Markets initially spiked at the news; however they have returned to normal and are expected to remain so unless there are any problems in the change of power.

Tholians Fly in Aid
Tholia

Following the violent invasion of the Yrridian worlds by the Tholian Empire which saw the deaths of several billion Yrridian civilians and the placing of several hundred million more in critical condition the Empire changed up it's public face by moving in supplies and personnel to offer aid to the surviving Yrridian civilians. Tholian Transports moved in several thousand medical personnel and supplies to offer the best medical care the Empire had to offer to those in need, as well as offereing other humanitarian aid to the survivors on the planet.

Yrridian’s Regain Communications
Yrridia

Following the battle between the Jacorn and Tholians over the homeworld, the Jacorn ships were able to redirect the Yrridian’s through their own subspace communication systems and allow them to speak out for the first time. The Yrridians immediately used this ability to speak out against the Tholian claims and assure the quadrant that they had no WMD’s.

A few months after the fleet battle full Yrridian communication was restored as they were able to fix the damage done by a rogue faction of their population. It is believed that most nations contacted their embassies to gather the opinions of the onsite personnel over the claims and accusations.

Nagus Tog Dies
Feranginar

As expected the Grand Nagus Tog died quietly in his home in late June. His successor was announced to be Borrik, a retired business man who has garnished profit as a market analyst for some time. The change over was relatively quick and easy with most people willing to trust the choice of their former Nagus.

Yrridian War Slows Down
Yrridia

After the fleet battle last year that stopped the Tholian advance to Yrridia it appears both sides of the conflict were not eager to head into what could be a fiasco. Reports indicate that the Tholians have moved a sizable fleet to each of the worlds they have already conquered meanwhile the Jacorn have assembled a fleet to defend Yrridia.

As the months passed neither side prepared for nor infact did make any moves toward the enemy or to pull out. When asked a retired Starfleet analyst said:

“After the major destruction that occurred last year it is clear neither side wants to suffer the loss of another fleet like that. Their being cautious to try and make sure they have the advantage. The problem with this for the Tholians is that they are strengthening the Jacorn resolve every second they wait. This is the first time the Jacorn have engaged a force in this manner and that they’ve put the Tholians on their heals will certainly generate a lot of excitement back home and bolster moral in the fleet. As for the Jacorn it is suspected their economy just won’t be up for a prolonged war. They’re going to need to finish this soon or risk not being able to finish at all.”

Yrridians Ignore Tholian Demands
Yrridia

After nearly five months of silence, the Tholians have by all appearances been ignored diplomatically after they delivered their demands to the Yrridians. The demands included such things as naming an accomplice to the development of the accused WMD, the total surrender of the governing officials and their planets. The terms also called for the replacement of a Yrridian government; however there were no plans for what type of government or when they might regain sovereignty.

The Yrridian executive decided that such terms were so outrageous that he refused to respond diplomatically.

“Not only do they expect my people to turn our selves over for doing something we didn’t do, but they expect us to villainies another innocent society by naming them accomplices in an action that never happened. We will not turn over our people to his subjugation, we will not turn ourselves in to be punished for crimes not committed, we will not sell out our neighbors to appease the Emperor’s ego.”

Third Battle for Yrridia
Yrridia

In early February a large Tholian fleet crossed into Yrridian space on a direct course with the Yrridian Planet. As they moved through yrridian space their occupying fleet joined up with them to create a large fleet which arrived at Yrridia to find a small number of derelict Jacorn Vessles.

The Tholians demanded that the Jacorn stand aside and when they refused they powered up weapons. 140 of them didn’t get the chance to fire however as nearly 1500 Jacorn ships decloaked and used the EDW weapon which won them the last battle to incapacitate them. The action was followed swiftly when a third Tholian fleet decloaked nearly 1,000 additional vessels which rushed into the fight.

The Jacorn, outnumbered, and outgunned, achieved success in three long range engagements which drastically whittled down the numbers of the Tholian Fleets as they closed in. By the time the opposing sides reached short range combat the Tholians found themselves on the short side with more maneuverable Jacorn vessels weaving through them. Making a prominant appearance for the Jacorn was over 1100 of the Federation's Sisko Class vessles which gave them serious boost in numbers and firepower.

The Jacorn wiped out the Fleets while suffering substantial but recoverable losses. An estimated 4500 Tholian Ships were lost in the engagement to only 1300 Jacorn ships.

Yrridians Use Momentum
Yrridia

Following the destruction of the occupation fleet, many on the occupied Yrridian worlds began to talk about rebellion, and it happened in early March. Nearly five hundred million Yrridian civilians took up arms against the 1.3 million Tholian troops and destroyed them, retaking their planet with minimal loss of life. The inhabitants of 226 also rebelled throwing off the Tholians; however there was considerably higher death on 226.

225 remains under Tholian control as they have set up a fortified defensive structure with higher numbers of troops; however it is expected that the Yrridians will not remain docile for long and are likely even now planning the uprising that will throw the Tholians back out of Yrridian space.

Federation recalls Ambassador to Tholia
Sol

The Federation officially recalled the Ambassador from Tholian Space for what it deemed as “consultations.” However with no temporary ambassador sent to fill the spot it appears almost as if the Federation is diplomatically rebuking the Tholians public position, and cutting their connection with the Federation government. The management of the war and wild accusations made by the Emporer publicly has likely drivin Federation officials to take some measure of action against the Tholian diplomatic rampage.

The Federation government refused to confirm any of this information instead stating that the Ambassador was simply returning home for a brief visit and briefing and would soon be returning to Tholia.

Federation-Klingons stage exercise on RSE Border
Sol

Several Klingon ships passed into Federation space this year where they met up with a portion of Starfleet to engage in several exercises that appeared to happen along the Romulan border. The events finished with both fleets rushing at the Border from over 100LY out at high warp. The ships did however stop themselves before coming to the border and departed for their homes.

Analysts are baffled by this incident which had very little actual military action, but instead looked like some kind of choreography practice.

Citizens of 225 Revolt
Yrridia

Following the successful results early in the year the citizens of 225 launched a rebellion against the Tholians in early march while Tholian resupply ships had been forced back to Tholia. The campaign was long and bloody with 35.7 million Yrridians estimated dead and a further 108 million severely wounded. However five days after the campaign started the Yrridian rebel forces managed to break into the Tholian base and cut off the major defensive factor for the occupying force.

By mid March the occupation force had been almost completely wiped out and the Yrridians began to celebrate the final push-out of the Tholian Empire.

Tholians Recapture 225
Tholia

The Celebrations of the Yrridians were short lived when a large Tholian fleet arrived over 225 about a month after the successful revolt. The Tholians immediately landed their troops who were able to quickly handle the rebels. An estimated 250 million Yrridian fighters were believed to have been killed; although sources indicate there was little civilian casualties.

With the reconquering of 225 and the reestablishment of the Tholian supply base there, the Empire has regained it’s ability to launch attacks deep into Yrridian space.

Jacorn Muscle through another Fleet engagement
Jacora

The Jacorn Fleet, apparently anticipating another Tholian invasion was waiting for the Tholian fleet at 227. Having recived very few reinforcements after the last battle the Jacorn fleet numbers were very low and it appeared they hoped for the demonstration of force over the planet to be enough. They were wrong.

Toward the beginning of May it appears a Tholian fleet arrived at 227, likely to reclaim the planet. The fleet arrived cloaked so it is unknown how long they had been there before a section of them dropped cloak to open fire. The Jacorn Fleet didn’t hesitate, and the initial engagement saw the use of a weapon similar to the cloak-detecting torpedo used in the Ferangi-Cardassian War, by the Tholians. The EDW’s and conventional weapons of the Jacorn were able to overwhelm a majority of the decloaked fleet before it fled back under cloak.

The battle continued with the repetition of the Tholians de-cloaking, firing, and recloaking in order to avoid as much of the incoming fire as possible. The strategy was marginally successful as it estimates place tholian losses at less than 50% of what would have been expected in a traditional engagement.
The Tholians eventually retreated unwilling to risk further loss of ship after three quarters of their Fleet had been turned into debris. Jacorn Fleet looked little, better almost definitely won’t be able to survive another engagement of any kind without additional reinforcements.

Tholians Repelled on 226
Yrridia

Following the recapture of 225, the Tholians launched two engagements; one toward 227, as well as 226. With no opposition the Tholians quickly landed the troops they had with to reclaim the planet. They didn’t expect the Yrridian force that was waiting for them. Nearly 250,000,000 Yrridian rebels had survived the occupation and previous revolt and stood ready to face the new incoming troops.

The Yrridians were able to wipe out the Tholian invaders, although only 75 million rebel troops remain.

Federation Delays Ambassadors Return
Sol

With the Federation Ambassador returning home early this year, his return to Tholia was expected to have occurred by the end of April; however no attempts have yet been made to send the Ambassador back to Tholia. With the war continuing, and the Tholians laying claim to sovereign Yrridian worlds, two of which they had no control of at the time, it appears the Federation has not seen fit to re-bestow the senior official connection to the tholians.

When asked, one anonymous Starfleet Admiral had this to say, “This is in no way to be construed as a diplomatic sanction. We do have a deputy ambassador available to the Tholians as well as an embassy full of personnel who can and do work to resolve issues on tholia. This is simply a matter of security. With the region in it’s current state we must think first of the safety of the Ambassador and right now we still have safety and security issues with his transportation which are unresolved. He is preparing to return as we speak and I’m sure we will have him back on Tholia before the end of the year.”

Klingons Take Action
Q’onoS

The Klingon Government announced that it was putting a neutralizing claim over the null territory stretching between the Tholian Empire and her colonies on the far side of the Yrridians. While no immediate objection has come from the Empire, it is expected that they will muster some form of verbal protest before the end of the year.

No direct reasoning for the claim has been released by the Empire; although many speculate that the Empire wished to use it’s military might to humble the Tholians without directly entering the war.

Tholians Withdraw
Tholia

With the Jacorn Fleet severely weakened by the last year of engagements and warfare, it came as a major shock to them and the Yrridians to find out that the Tholian Fleets and troops were called back into Tholian space.

The Jacorn Fleet arrived in orbit of 225 to find that the space had been deserted and sensor reports from the Jacorn border indicated that the Fleet had returned to Tholian space. Scans of the planet indicated that all occupying forces had been pulled out leaving the fortified supply base and what looked like the beginnings of a Starbase in orbit of the system.

The Jacorn fleet has neutralized both of these structures severing the supply line any remaining Tholians might have had.

Jacorn Fleet swells with Foreign Designs
Jacora

With their own fleet in tatters following the battles of the year, and poor military planning leaving them with little in Reserves or in production, the Jacorn Government was forced to look to it’s allies for support, by means of replacement ships.

The Fleet that arrived at 227 had over 300 Federation Designs including the Sisko Class Destroyer, now being phased out, and the Akira Class Cruiser, also being replaced by newer designs. The Fleet also made the appearance of Klingon vessels, about 800 of them. Neither Class had been seen before, and with no Tholian Fleet present, the exact specifications of these Classes remains speculative.

Overall more than 2,000 ships of foreign design were put into use by the Jacorn during the war, which has allowed them to keep fighting long after their own supply of ships has run out. It isn’t clear how much these foreign designs cost the Jacorn, but the vessels have been a major boost both in terms of numbers and firepower for the Jacorn.

Tholian Emperor Dies
Tholia

Following the strange military behavior the Empire clarified the action as the long standing Emperor died. His heir stepped in immediately following the death to maintain control of the state, but has started to reevaluate much of his fathers decisions.

War goes on Pause
Yrridia

With the withdraw of Tholian Forces from Yrridian space celebrations were rampant in the capital, and many of the cities. Many more however were too busy burying their dead and rebuilding their homes to celebrate. The hardest hit was planet 225 where they say nearly half of the planets population killed over the last three years.

The Yrridians are not the only ones taking advantage of the pause. Several thousand military funerals were done to honor those Jacorn who gave their lives fighting for the Yrridians. A representative of the Yrridian executive attended most of these funerals where they offered their thanks and condolences to the families of those lost.

It appears the Jacorn have maintained a deterrent fleet stationed over 225 to prevent the Tholians from regaining their foothold. Sources indicate that the fleet remains alert, but morale is high among the crews.

Elections for the Democracies
Sol/Jacora

Both states underwent elections this year, with quite different results. The Federation president saw his party remain a dominant force and returned to his role without many problems. The President quickly selected the Democratic, Spoon, and Anti-Imperial Parties to rejoin his coalition, as well as inviting the newly formed Resonance Party. These parties have strong foundations in national defense, specifically aimed at one aggressor or another, as well as emphasizing strong ties to allied states.

The Jacorn electorate however did not see the return of the long standing President, in fact the Republic Party, which had been dominant since the emergence of the Jacorn failed to garnish any kind of significant vote. The Alliance Party boomed in the elections and a new President was chosen. Joining him will be the Techno Party, which had played a key role in many of the administrations following the emergence of the Jacorn internationally, the Skoliro Party, a relative new party formed from national defense campaigners from several different backgrounds, and the Conservative Party, which holds some international isolation and reserve in high regard. This will indicate a shift in policy for the Jacorn following the war, although one that many analysts suggested might come with the return of the Alliance Party.

Tholian Diplomatic Envoy Attacked
Tholia

With the Tholian Empire reassessing its war commitment, the new Emperor decided to pay a visit to the war front to see the enemy and destruction first hand. Hoping the advanced notification broadcast to the Yrridians and the rest of the quadrant would be enough to prevent being viewed as hostile. Reports now indicate that he was wrong. It appears that somewhere in the now neutral space spanning between the Empire and Yrridan space the envoy was attacked by an unknown party. A distress call was sent that Tholian forces quickly responded to.

Very little information has been released right now; however it appears that upon arrival the rescue team found both escorts destroyed with the Diplomatic shuttle severely damaged including hull breaches to most of the command decks. The ship was towed back to Tholian space and there are rumors that there was at least one survivor possibly more rescued from the craft.

While no indications of who was behind the attack have yet been released it appears that this was some form of assassination attempt against the Emperor. Analysts have been baffled by the attack stating that there are few in the area to do such a thing:

“The Klingons wouldn’t need to resort to something like this if they wanted the Emperor dead. Beyond that this just doesn’t fit the Klingon style, if they killed someone; they’d make sure you knew it. By all accounts the Yrridians still have yet to rebuild their fleet; their shipyard hadn’t been in service for nearly a decade and are only now just coming back online. This also seems like an odd move for the Jacorn, who until this point have not aggressed upon the Tholians except to push them out of Yrridian space. When the Fleet left earlier this year the Jacorn simply staid in Yrridian space rather than pursuing them.”

The only other information on the attacks involves a whistleblower from within the former Jacorn administration. Supposedly there is information indicating that the Tholians themselves were responsible for the attack; however these are little more than rumors at this time.
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Jacorn Withdraw From Yrridian Space
Jacora

Following the rise of the new President one of his first official acts was to recall all remaining forces from within Yrridian space preventing another Tholian invasion. Official releases state that the action was undertaken as the Yrridians are now producing ships to protect themselves, and with the Tholians having been pushed back and a new Emperor in place, it appears the war is over.

Inside sources indicate the President’s choice was criticized by many of his senior military advisors, and many political leaders, both within and outside of the coalition became critical after a closed-door briefing to the Alliance Security Council, most likely regarding further clarification of the decision.

Activity on the Romulan Border
Romulus

Early this year both Federation and Klingon border sensor networks detected what appears to be a Combat test for a new Romulan ship; although, the action’s proximity to the border may also be a response to the border display done last year by the Klingon-Federation Alliance. Independent sources have revealed some of the same information the more sophisticated Federation and Klingon sensors would have detected; however, to date the Federation has refused to confirm any of the findings except that there was some form of demonstration.

Independent sources indicate that the new Romulan Ship is much larger than the Norexean which is believed to be widely used in the Romulan Fleet, and may be a step toward developing a Battleship with similar, although less illegal, capabilities as the Scimitar which proved to be quite effective in battle against the Enterprise. Further information indicates the ship’s offensive and defensive technologies have been greatly improved from the Norexean; and experts estimate that this ship’s underlying projects may have been under development since as early as just a few years after the Scimitar’s destruction.

The unofficial estimates of this ships strength put it in the 10,000-13,000 Range on the Standard Combat Rating system. This makes it a considerable ship; however, while numbers on the Federation fleet are strictly classified it is believed that the ship is comfortably outmatched by Federation designs of similar role.

Federation finishes investigation of Yrridia
Sol

Federation teams lead the investigation, which also included representatives from the Klingon Empire and the Ferangi Alliance, into the claims surrounding a Yrridian plan to use a WMD against the Tholian people.

A full release of the investigations findings has yet to be presented; however, statements from the various governments and the Investigative team themselves indicated that the Yrridian government was very cooperative in the investigation. There are also indications that the investigation teams found mixed evidence that seems to confirm both claims. It is expected that the final publication of the investigation results will clarify the discoveries.

Yrridian War Finally Ends
Yrridia

With the acceptance of a cease-fire returning the states to their former war states the Yrridian War has finally ended and peace has returned to the Quadrant. The Tholian Empire came away from the engagement with serious losses and no major gains economically or territorially. The Yrridians as well suffered huge losses from the engagement with their civilian population being greatly reduced with reports of nearly 50% casualties on the heavily contested planet 225.

Additionally the relationship of both powers with the Jacorn Alliance will be somewhat questionable. The resistance they offered prevented the tholian capture of the Yrridian capital and eventually liberated all Yrridian worlds allowing for the terms of the cease-fire. However their abandonment of their defense position two years ago may instill hesitation on the part of the Yrridians in any further dealings.

Federation Responds
Sol

Following the large scale demonstration by the Romulan Empire last year showing off what appeared to be a new Battleship. The Federation responded with a demonstration of its own. 37 Sovereign Class Ships were remote activated with shields and random defensive maneuvers while 40 Ross Class Destroyers squared off against them. The Sovereign Class ships were destroyed in the engagement offering little resistance against the newest Destroyer Model for the Federation.

Klingon Chancellor Killed
Q’onoS

The Klingon Chancellor was killed today after a series of challenges levied against him by various clan leaders. Autopsy reports indicate that it could have been any one or a combination of the injuries sustained that killed him.

The unprecedented event of the successful challenger to the Chancellorship has thrown the great houses into chaos. Most have laid claims to the position, even a few that weren’t directly involved in the challenges have stepped forward to voice their candidacy.

Closed door council meetings are being held now to try and determine the next direction for the Empire.

Klingon Civil War
Q’onoS

After the failure of the Council to mediate the dispute, the arguments have become increasingly violent until this morning when the T’Glok Clan withdrew their support for the Empire, ceased all fees going into the empire, cut off all traffic to non T’Glok Clan members on their worlds, and ordered all loyal commanders home.

Many other clans soon followed suit and in the fighting that has occurred fifteen major factions have emerged all fighting for control of the Empire.

Klingon Empire Ends
Q’onoS

After just a few weeks of civil war, it has become known that the Klingon Empire is no more. What started as a Civil War within a nation has now evolved into the dissolution of the Empire into 12 separate states attempting to conquer and enslave each other.

This has brought with it many serious repercussions most notably for the Federation. With the Klingon Empire now gone, the Khitomer Accords which have served to outline a military powrhouse between the Federation and Klingons for over a century, are also gone. The Federation finds itself without the powerful ally which has helped keep the Romulan Empire, and more recently, Tholian Assembly, from stirring up too much trouble.

Without the Alliance’s massive amount of political and military power, the Federation may have to be willing to back down from several of their recent foreign policies, specifically the police roll they have taken on.

Klingons become Federation Citizens
Sol

In a surprise move, one of the stronger clans in the war, decided to abandon their war with their brothers and requested Federation membership for themselves and their worlds.

There was extensive debate on the Federation Council over the offer, with arguments over the compromise to Federation Security getting involved might mean to the Prime Directive of Starfleet to not interfere in internal affairs. The vote eventually passed by a narrow margin after it was confirmed that the Empire had ceased to exist.

Federation Extends Territory
Sol

After the diplomatic blow-up between the Federation and Tholian Governments this year the Federation moved to annex the territory to its south and planet 596. This combined with the ending of formal relations between the Tholian and Federation government this year prompted the President to close the border to the Tholian Empire, trapping the Empire between the Federation, the Jacorn, and a long trip around.

The vast majority of Tholian Trade was directed toward the Station found by the Federation several years ago and without the passage between Federation and Jacorn Space much of that has become too expensive to ship, and has stopped trade cold in the Empire.

Klingon Civil War Rages
Q’onoS

This year saw the Ul and Miran Clans swallowed by the Doz’ke and Furlorn clans in a series of battles. The smaller clan holdings of the Ul and Miran weren’t expected to last for long. With their capture the Doz’ke and Furlorn clans, who were also weaker players have strengthened their position as well as planting a big target on their backs for larger more powerful clans.

The Clans have kept themselves contained this year mostly with only minor reports of outside attacks, mostly on adventure seekers who ventured too close to the border.

Cardassians Finish Debt Payment
Feranginar

The Cardassian debt to the Ferangi has finally been paid off. The debt which was raised in a series of loan and tech sales between the Ferangi and Cardassians caused a large economic scare when the Cardassians defaulted, and refused to pay the Ferangi, who they claim had funded Breen insurgents to cause problems for the Cardassian Military.

The dispute almost turned into a full invasion; however a joint Klingon-Federation task force training in the region was available to blunt and eventually throw back the Cardassian invasion force. Following the brief spat the Cardassians were forced to sign a treaty requiring that they repay the funds.

The Cardassians have finished the payment nearly two years ahead of the projected schedule delivering bulk payments in the last two years to finish off the debt and treaty conditions.

Tholian Empire Barely Escapes Economic Collapse
Tholia

The Tholian Empire barely escaped a governmental default this year. The Tholian Economy is believed to have been over extended in recent years due to a large buildup of the Tholian military. While the Tholian bill has been on the climb their revenues have plateaued, and the Empire soon saw a shift from large surplus, to barely squeezing a prophet, to coping with a small deficit.

This precarious situation escalated into an economic nightmare for the Tholians after their political disputes with the Federation which lead to the Federation cutting their only profitable means to get trade goods to the Trade Station. The sudden termination of the trade income was the final blow that sent the Tholians into a steep downward spiral.

It is unclear what the Tholians have done since then, but it appears that their actions have done little to ease the spending, and simply plunged the empire deep into debt, with numbers expected to now be surpassing their annual GDP. Emergency action taken by the Government this year prevented what was expected to be an eight digit government deficit that would have crippled the Tholian Government and likely lead to extreme action.

To avoid the deficit it appears that many of the Tholian programs were cut funding, including a large portion of their Counter Intelligence Programs, which has allowed GNN this access to the Tholian situation. It is unclear what all other programs have been cut, but it is believed that the military would have to be largely scaled back if the Empire was to have any hope of surviving the year.

What ever action was taken, the Emperor will have to be careful how he proceeds from here to make sure the Empire doesn’t plunge back into the nightmare they just saved themselves from.

Klingon Clan War Rages
Q’onoS

The Clan War has continued in the Klingon Empire with several major raids having passed this year. Most of the activities have been internal, but at least two clans are known to have attempted raids on outside powers for cash and supplies.

The most notable raid for the year was a fleet of Zn’ot Clan ships that crossed the Federation border to attack their former countrymen. A Federation training exercise with Thirdfleet was fortunately being conducted in the area and the Zn’ot Fleet didn’t cause any harm to any world.

Additonally, rumors circulate that one of the Clans pulled off a small, but successful raid on a Hyllus world. This could potentially draw the Hyllus back out of their isolation for a revenge strike.

Finally two major battles took place, the first between the T’Glok Clan and the Kannik Clan saw the Kannik forces overrun, and the T’Glok took the closest world adding it to their already staggering domain. Additonally, the Olmagh Clan suffered a major blow at the hands of the Marun Clan. While the Olmagh’s did manage to maintain their hold on Q’onoS, they lost two other worlds to the Marun Clan and it is unknown how long they will be able to hold out against the Marun and T’Glok Clans.
