Potatoes are one of the most commonly eaten foods over here. That's not exactly bad luck. :P

Then again, maybe that's the reason we kept getting invaded...
Then I hope no one ever finds out about idaho!

Yes, Idaho is the center of US potato production.

You really think Ireland's been invaded in order to commandeer its potato wealth?

No, I was just surprised to hear Idaho is renowned for potatoes.

Inasmuch as anyone can win "renown" for potatoes.

I've been obsessing over this movie for long enough that now I'm wondering about real specifics, like what are they going to do with the uniforms? What about the ship design? I mean, JJ says this and that, but really, we can't know anything without eitiher seeing the movie, or getting leaked info. How many uniform designs have we seen throughout the series? Is this cast going to be on the Enterprise, or are they going to be short-sheeting each-other in the Starfleet Dorms? Is "Nero" some Romulan badass? The name makes sense, right? Is he going to have the forehead ridges, or are they gonna shine a green light on his face?

Okay, I think I've asked enough unanswerable questions for now.

Yes, all very good unanswerable questions.

Weird...

And Hal, you brought up some good points there. It's also one of the reasons I'm not holding my breath for this film.

Yeah, I can't see him doing too well in that role. Though he may surprise us, I doubt it.

I still wish they had gone with Stargate's Paul McGillion for Scotty...

I've seen Urban in Lord of the Rings, Chronicles of Riddick and Bourne Supremecy. All virtually the same role - lots of action and shouting. It'll be strange seeing him in something he's probably not accustomed to. The actor who's playing Kirk, Chris Pine, I've never heard of before, so I'm still a bit cautious about that.
Though they have got Quinto, Pegg and Bana - and of course Nimoy himself.n
