Not yet I haven't - and I've finally started punching holes in that bloody Akira.

You have aft weapons left... So unless you plan on chasing him backwards, it's indeed a messy spot for you.

The Akiras always seem to fare pretty well in these things I've noticed.
They say that in the Army,
the women are mighty fine.
They look like Phyllis Diller,
and walk like Frankenstein.

The problem is that it's a torpedo craft, whereas everything else depends on beam weapons. In this case, while the Akira had been hit repeatedly, as soon I I was able to get in close and engage with my disruptors I collapsed the forward shields and punched some big holes in the saucer. That's despite having already lost several of them, including one of the Mk 18s.

Used properly as part of a task group I would guess you would flop an Akira down behind a couple of Defiants or other ships and work that way. In that case the design really makes a lot of sense. Left on its own it is kind of limited in what it can do due to the shields.Mark wrote:The Akiras always seem to fare pretty well in these things I've noticed.
It is really not a terribly interesting ship and I wish I had picked something I could have moved in an aggressive manner with, but given the matchup there was not much you could do with the thing other than back away from the Negh'Var, lest what just happen have started earlier.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

So, the Negvar is now a wingless hulk... so it looks like a big stick?

There's a Freudian joke in there somewhere...
"All this has happened before --"
"But it doesn't have to happen again. Not if we make up our minds to change. Take a different path. Right here, right now."
