Hopefully they don't fuck up this time at Wrestlemania.
If Cody had won the Championship last year, where would he be this year? WWE was able to keep Cody hot, against all conventional norms. They booked Cody real good. He beat the monster Brock Lesnar. He was the star of a Wargames that saw the returns of Randy Orton and CM Punk. That finish to last Monday's Raw was cinema. And against a worldwide star in the Rock too. Bleedin' in the Chicago rain. Got to admit, Cody losing Wrestlemania last year was a hell of a gamble that paid off for WWE. They've gotten hotter, and the product is like Teflon now, considering the awful scandal.

Last Monday's Raw has also got random people theorizing that this shot was a signal that those two will appear on Wrestlemania.
I honestly think you could've done all that with Cody as champion. Having Roman win at Wrestlemania? Fuck no! The heel should not win at Wrestlemania!
By having Roman win last year, the WWE became stronger as a business. I am with you. I thought Cody would win because that's how things are supposed to work. I thought to myself, "this is stupid, Cody is done." But this deviation from the norm made the WWE more popular than it was 3 years ago. This shouldn't have worked. Brokenhearted fans should have dropped out. instead WWE gained two more stars since then, Jay Uso is a legit babyface star, and L.A. Knight became a star as well, where just 3 years ago he was the manager for a "modeling agency." WWE can't pull that "shocking loss" bs two years in a row however, because that would kill Cody Rhodes' shine. There's no Brock Lesnar to prop up Cody in a hot feud. Cody has to win this time.

There is not a problem in this world that can't be solved without the proper application of a sufficient number of thermonuclear ordnance.
