Magic the Gathering is great fun, although am too polite and allow opponents to undue their moves at times.
Age of Mythology was great :-)

I was in Mythology Club in highschool (not as geeky as it sounds >.>)

Chaos splits
Gaia and Sky have hot sex0rz
Rhea and Kronos cut off balls of Sky replace him. Rule of Titains
Zeus cuts off Kronos balls makes Aphrodite. Zeus and everything that moves sleeps to make gods. Posideon and everything that moves makes Cyclopses and lesser gods. Blah blah blah.

Okay....this has to be the most far off-topic I've ever seen this site get. Congratulations.

OK, now that that's settled, I'm sure no thread will ever go off-topic again...

Would an artificial life form, made using metal and having a brain (processor) complex enough to have independant thought be (considered to be sentient by the classic tests) alive or are you talking about only life that has evolved naturally? Assuming that it would have the capacity to replicate itself or build new improved versions of it self.
Would a biological carbon based entity making it preclude it from being considered a lifeform?
I know that its an old question but since this is a zombie thread then why not ask it :)

I have always felt that sufficiently-advanced robots/machines can qualify as being 'alive'.

Long as they can reproduce themselves they don't even need to have AI. They also need some form of 'cellular' metablism.

IDK that any metabolism would have to be cellular in nature to qualify.
