We wish to announce the commencement of a diplomatic conference and public ceremony between the Breen Confederacy and the Cardassian Union. During the recent conflict with the Taiidan Directorate, events transpired that both of our people regret. The nature of the conflict was fast-moving and incredibly violent, and miscommunication resulted in a great civilian massacre, as well as the worst friendly-fire incident in recent memory.

The purpose of this conference is to bring closure to the families and clanmates of the 500,000 Breen warriors killed in the Dreadnought strikes, as well as to promote peace and cooperation between the Breen Confederacy and Cardassian Union.

Now, the leader of the Breen people, Supreme Thot Tsukiyumi the Wise, would like to say a few words.

I share the outrage and anger of my clansmen over the reckless attacks made by the former Cardassian government, but we cannot allow grief and revenge to drive us into our own mistakes. This is the first official broadcast from the new government of the Republic of the Cardassian Union. We have endured a time of great strife, which we are working dilligently to overcome. First, the entire Council of Legates wishes to formally apologize to our Breen neighbors. As professional soldiers we find losses incured to friendly fire detestful to say the least, and ask forgivness from the Breen government and the clanmates of her fallen warriors.

The Confederacy formally accepts the apology of the Cardassian government. We hope our peoples are able to move forward in a spirit of trust and cooperation, and offer our assistance during this period of governmental transition.

The High Republic knows all to well the struggles and problems of regime change, and the restructuring that can take place. It is a time of upheaval, of strife and of difficulty for any power. As such, we wish to offer the Cardassian Union a solution to its apparent antimatter problems. The Turei currently produce an order of magnitude more antimatter than is entirely necessary and we will offer it to the Union for a discounted price at their time of strife.

If any other issues befall the Union, we give our support to their recovery.

If more than what the Turei are offering is necessary the Sheliak too make much more than we currently require and would be happy to offer it at a lower rate than usual. We hope the new Cardassian government well.

At this time, the Imperium wishes to announce that it has begun a large colonization project. The concerned parties have been notified and new border maps delivered. Further information will be delivered to the public at large at the start of the new year.

Following recent colonization increases, the Turei High Republic has expanded its own colonial claims policy and are laying claim to a number of systems to the north of our current territorial borders. The High Council will be publishing a map of the current claims soon.
