Cheap/Free Website creator recommendations?

Post by Varthikes »

I want to create a website for my book that will be coming out later this year.

Could I get some recommendations for a good, free/cheap website creator software available online?

Much thanks in advance. :)

The only free/open source IDE type web designer I know of that might be slightly comparable to Dreamweaver is Kompozer.

Here's a list of editors, some free some not:

Do you already know HTML/XHTML and CSS?

That KompoZer program looks promising. Thank you. :)

I take it that means you don't know what I'm talking about? Or did I commit a grammar fail? :p

It would be wise to at least get some background on what they are and how to use them.

If you don't want to buy a book, this is a great website with free tutorials:

I mention this because Kompozer will not be as full featured as Dreamweaver, and therefore its helpful to know the coding to fill in anything the IDE can't do itself.

Also, you'll need an FTP client. Here's a good one:

There's one built into the Mozilla suite, if you download Seamonkey (the all in one package) it includes a web browser, composer and email client. It's not bad. Of cause you can always use notepad or another text editor. That's what I used to do.
email, ergo spam
