Concealment test for the return flight = 27. I manage to stay out of sight. Am I meeting you on the plateau or at the bottom of the elevator? Max speed is 48m/round, so it'll be about 40 - 60 seconds to get from the gatepath to the elevator area.

I would assume elevator, but LH and Kendall have been quiet on this. If I don't hear anything from them today I'll be dragging their inert butts along. Orks need killing too people!

K. I'll write up the inbound flight, and leave it open for vox confirmation of the rendezvous point.

Ok, anyone who wants to look over the edge of the elevator make a perception check.

I'm still here. I just don't have all that much time to myself lately.

Are you going to let me know when the Ork reinforcements start rushing up the valley, or do I have to make a perception roll at the right moment?

Given how freaking obvious it'll be I don't think we need to bother with a roll.

Yeah, figured that an army of Orks wouldn't exactly be sneaking along.

In that case, I'll just settle in here and wait for the army to turn up. :)

Alright. Kendall, Deep?

I'll be honest. I'm asking because after the last combat this just sort of fizzled out. I want to know what everyone is looking to get out of this. If you want to just blast things then let me know, I can use Antonia and railroad us from combat to combat. Not really gonna break my heart. If ya'll wanna RP more in it that's cool too, but go for it. I just wanna find out interest levels and expectations.

I wouldn't mind a good combo, myself.

Well combo is what I was going for, that's why I wasn't just using Antonia to railroad the group. She was along as a complication and to make sure that a few little things get brought up when needed but I never intended her to drive.

Judging by the underwhelming response to your question, it may be a moot point.

In general, though, it is a bit tougher to get into real nitty-gritty RP with characters like Space Marines. I mean, there are broad strokes with which we can paint them - my char, for example, is my attempt to make both a true-to-fic assault marine as well as an infiltration/SOF type. That's why I don't carry a basic or heavy weapon, I took infiltration and demo skills, etc. The flip side, of course, is that we are Space Marines - in the final analysis, our solution to any opposition is going to be to kill it. We won't be scared of anything, we won't have agendas outside of our orders (hmm, maybe I should have played a Blood Raven or Dark Angel...) If there were a Space Marine as part of a mixed group, then he'd have a clearly defined role - as the big hitter. But while we each may have specializations, when it comes to it our apothecary is going to kill things just as much as will our Librarian, as our Devastators, or as I will.

Not to say I'm giving up on the idea - far from it. Just saying that this may be why that end of the game is bogging down a bit.
