Bottom right corner at the top of D

Are you sure? I'm talking about where SG and I are supposed to be setting a charge to block access from the main encampment into the keep area, to keep the mass of ork soldiery out while we're doing our do.

I could just carry you. I can fly, remember?

Sorry, was pointing out our position, figured you were trying to see where we were in relation to the path down, M.

The flying isn't exactly quiet or subtle.

Too true. I'm just afraid that climbing will take too long and cause too much falling.

Especially since you don't have Climb.

How far away are the two orks having the grudge match? Could our sniper hit one by chance?

Taking the angle into account figure 180-200m. Sniper rifle has a range of 500m so no problem.

Cool.

So, firing at the bigger of the two. Called shot at head.
BS: 50+20 (aim)+ 10 (accurate) + 10 (sights) + 10 (deadeye shot) - 20 (called shot) = 80
Roll: 43
Damage 17 - 4 = 13x2 = 26

Splat goes his head.

Technically you were shooting at a Nob. 20 wounds and 5 toughness means -1 wounds. Still, I'll let it stand. We'll say he got roughed up a bit in the fight before hand and was down a few wounds.

Whoops. You didn't specify what the target was, so I just treated him as a standard Ork.

If I describe an ork as "big" assume its a nob minimum. Regardless, its not a big deal.

OK, I had an idea. Instead of climbing, let's jsut see if the commotion draws the orks off the wall along the route to the demo site. If so, I could fly myself and SG there under the level of the top of the wall, and do the same for myself to rejoin the group. I can go 48m/round flat-out.

Make sense?

That depends on a lot of things going right. The brawl could result in all the guards killing each other off, or being drawn away elsewhere as the fight moves off in another direction. Or it could lead to the fight being broken up and even more guards being posted around the area. Or someone may call reinforcements from down in the valley, which would cause our plan to backfire horrificaly.

What I'm wondering is whether the fight will cause sufficient noise that the sound of a jump pack being ignited very briefly could go unheard. If so, I'd suggest us moving to the south-west to the cliff edge on foot. From there I'm within firing range of our target site. You jump off the side of the cliff, and ignite your pack only briefly to prevent yourself from going splat. You can then move quickly to the target site on foot and set the bomb while I cover you. You then run back to the cliff, jump-pack up to the top, give me the detonator, team up with the rest of the squad and we continue with the mission.

What do you think?

OK, going with SG's plan above and heading off toward the gate-path...
Silent Move +20, target 67: roll of 57.
Concealment +20, target 67: roll of 24.
