As the Chimera coughed into life behind her Intias was forced to stifle a squeal of delight. "All troops rally in the garage and prepare to bug out. Priestess," she yelled, "Get the salamander started." She pointed at Jastilus, "Can you drive?" to which the trooper nodded yes. "Then you're my driver. Anyone else checked out on a Chimera?"
Litila calmy but efficiently climbed out of the Chimera and into the Salamander. She began going through the rituals of activation, then pressed the "NO" button, after making sure the '710' gauge was properly secured.

Unfortunately, the ritual was flawed, as she had tried to skip two of the steps. The en-jinn coughed for a moment, then stopped again. Litila raised a small finger in apprehension.

Raltus heard the Chimera's engine turn over, and realized that the roof was the wrong place to be. Heading down the stairs, he began looking to see if seats were still available in the Chimera.

"Aw, we don' getta take a shot at nobody?" Hak asked, and promptly got smack on the back of the head by Hilda.

"In the throne damned Chimera meat head!" She snapped, shoving the chem-dog ahead of her by his shoulder. She waved her flamer for emphasis.

Raltus headed towards the Chimera, but due to the distance it meant he was one of the last to get inside. As a result, he was pressed up against the door of the Chimera, using a slap of armor as a headrest. If they hit rough ground, he was going to acquire some very remarkable concussions.

Litila tried the ritual of activation again, taking 2.8 more seconds to complete the ritual, to ensure it went correctly.

Buck and Boar, hearing the order, turned and ran. Stopping at the two vehicles. The brothers saw one closed top, one open top. Not sure which was which. They both looked at each other in confusion. "Ki'mir'a or Slal'man'der?" remarked Buck. "Ere... I donno. That one open though." Said Boar pointing to the Salamander. Buck nodded and they raced into the open craft.

Embarking was one order which Crank was all too eager to obey. Snapping back from his cover inside the door jamb, he was at the entry ramp of the Chimera before his rifle had even settled across his chest at parade rest. Lirk had come up behind the Org brothers while they debated about which vehicle to take. Noticing both the open top and the fact that the other vehicle was quickly filling up with slims, he nodded sagely. "Good, t'inking," he said to Buck and Boar. We can see sky in this one, we take this one." Boarding behind the other two, he scowled briefly and called toward the driver's compartment, "Metal girl start this one yet?"

"Yes she started it," Jastilus grumbled as he shouldered his way through the Ogryn to the driver's seat. Intias followed, squeezing between the huge abhumans to the commander step at the front.

Hilda scowled over at the Salamander, thinking she'd gotten the short end of the stick. Figures the Commissar would end up practically alone with her hulking bodyguards, leaving the Arbites to deal with the chem-dogs in the Chimera. She Shoved Hak roughly down into a seat and took her own near the front of the vehicle. She laid her flamer across her lap so the barrel pointed down the length of the troop transport, ready to fill the entire interior with flame if need be.

Raltus glanced back after getting in, and realized he was sitting in the wrong location. Unfortunately all the good seats were taken, and now he had a really good reason to make sure nothing hostile got close. Namely babecued self.

Intias stood high on the parapet step of the Salamander and kicked Jastilus squarely behind the shoulders. "Get us out of here!" Waving at the Chimera she yelled, "When you're loaded pull out!"

Raltus heard the yell, and glanced forward. Seeing that the Chimera wasn't moving, he decided to take advantage of the chance for a comfy seat. Moving forward, past the other troops, he squezed into the driver's seat, and began to steer the Chimera, familiarizing himself with the controls, before waving and saying "Ready to go Commissar, pulling out now!". He grabbed the controls, and keeping a good eye on the visors, began accelerating out of the garage, trying to avoid hitting the walls, and the Salamander.

Jastilus grumbled at the sharp kick but he was as eager to leave as any of them. He threw the Salamander into reverse and backed it up, intending to drive around the small dividing wall and out the same door as the chimera. When the rear treads bumped the big door behind them he threw it into drive and wrenched the steering yoke all the way to the right.

The Salamander continued on doggedly forward.

"Get us out of here!" Intias snapped, emphasizing her point with another kick to Jastilus' back, this one more heel than anything.

Jastilus put the Salamander into reverse and tried again but the scout track refused to turn.

Intias ducked down into the Salamander and cuffed Jastilus in the back of the head. "What the hell are you doing? Get. Us. Out. Of. HERE!"

"I can't, the fething thing won't turn!"

Intias popped up and watched in horror as the Chimera pulled out of the garage. "Stop!" she yelled at the retreating APC, "Get back in here!" She wheeled and started to push through the mass of Ogryn to dismount. "Damn that cog-girl!"

Raltus saw that he ahd passed the Salamander, and stopped the Chimera, and began to carefully back up. It would be impolite to bang into the Salamander from the front. First, it would prevent him from getting the Chimera under cover, and second, the Salamander's front armor was likely stronger than the Chimera's rear armor, which meant that the troops in the back might get injured.

Litila was roused out of her memory defragmentation ritual by the sound of distressed equipment. Glancing around, she heard the Commissar yell for her, and the complaints from the driver about the Salamander. She had failed. She had missed a machine in need of assistance, and it was screaming for her aid.

"Throne damn it!" Intias bellowed as she hopped out of the Salamander. "You missed something cog-girl! Find it!" The thin line on Intias' cheek was starting to bleed properly now leaving that side of her face smeared with blood.

Hilda put her head back, and lightly banged her skull against the metal hull behind her. "Not going to die on this dirt ball," she muttered. "Not not not!" Getting up from her seat, she gave Raltus a fierce glare. "This thing does not move unless me or the commissar says so, and neither do you, got it?" Without waiting for an answer, she stalked through the apc and out the back, striding over to Intias. "Ma'am," she said softly. "Perhaps you should get in the Chimera?"
