How do we not have a thread for this game? Its amazing!
That said nothing like throwing the pipebomb and watching the infected swarm all over it only to become red rain

I have only played it offline and then only as a rental for a few days. I must admit it does have its charms though I would think it could get old without online elements to add to the carnage.

The online is the best part. Though for Xbox you can play it over a system link with friends. I have it on PC as that is where I do most of my gaming.

Left 4 Dead is fucking awesome. Got it on Friday and I played it all Friday night and Saturday afternoon. They've done a real good job varying the environments and your team mates aren't total retards. I've got to give it a try on-line.

I bought Left 4 Dead 2 recently - its the same basic idea really but more weapons, melee too. Nothing beats the katana for chopping off infected arms/ legs/ heads.

Yeah, Left 4 Dead is great but the weapon selection is limited. The idea of the hunting rifle is nice, but it promotes a style of game play the Director doesn't like. Sit around sniping long enough and the Director will send a screaming horde of infected at you and the hunting rifle isn't so hot at dealing with that. The assault rifle is just too good an all around gun for me to pick up anything else.

One of the best I've seen online was on Call of Duty 4 - persons name was "a nearby penguin" - so that came up on screen as "you have been killed by a nearby penguin"

Some like that are clever. When I played Counterstrike you'd get far less creative ones though.
